This number is definitely****ociated with the scam where they text you out of the blue, asking if you still use the number they've texted. If you tell them that you don't know them, they then give out a girl's name and will go on to explain how you were supposed to meet for coffee or drinks, but it didn't happen and now they're back in town for some event and can you get together. They'll often send a selfie of a pretty girl.
So, beware. I knew this was a scam from the get go, but I wanted to check the number since I do know people in the area code the text was sent from.

Responded to a lost cat report. Said they had our cat but wanted payment for food and toys. Sent a picture to us of our cat but the picture was altered. We did a search on this number and found it was****ociated to numerous scams. The person said they were nearby and wanted proof of ownership and demanded a picture of us with the cat. Told them we knew it was a scam. They stopped responding.

Had me deposit a mobile check they had me print out to buy equipment to work for them. When I figured out they weren't legit I stopped communicating and they s****ed harassing asking for the money back and sent pics of a man with FBI badges. This all stemmed from a FB post on my cousins page that her company was looking for people to hire. I even talked to "her" through her FB messenger.
