I put out an add to get my roof repaired. She (Kens wife) responded that he was slow but did excellent work. Had his two or three kids to help him @ ten dollars an hour. Ken and two teenagers arrived and inspected the roof. Kens wife then texted me to say that I needed $2000 for materials and four days labor pay. I agreed and approximately four days later he and three teenagers showed up and after a brief discussion as to what he planned I gave him $2000 cash. He went to Houghton Lake Home Depot and purchased materials. I then demanded the receipts and he reluctantly gave them to me. He then unloaded the material in my garage and after adding up the receipts I told him to remember that there was about $200 that was unaccounted for. He offered that he still wanted to **** on the extra in case he needed so****ing else. I agreed. He then ***g out about two hours then told me that he wanted to be paid $200 for the first day of work. I objected and told him that wasn't the deal and he responded that he needed $200 a day. I paid him. He came the next day for three hours and a***n I paid him $200. He then didn't show up for about 4 days and aging after three hours I paid him $200 and since I was going away the next day I paid another $200 in advance. He did not show a***n for about seven days. I had to keep texting the bogus number telling him to finnish. Little did I know that he had removed all the materials except for a 5 gallon bucket of mobile home roof seal and 5 he same in tar. He then finally showed up and painted my rubber roof with metal sealer to give the impression that he repaired the whole roof. It looked good in the pictures that he showed me. He then told me he had finished 5 he whole roof and I owed him no more money. He left quickly leaving two piles of trash and none of my material that I purchased. I then texted him and told him I was not happy with the trash and with the theft of my police batons. I recieved a response that he would be back on the weekend (06 07 19). I waited and he no showed till Sunday after I ran an errand for an hour. I returned to find my police batons ****ing on the door and the two piles of mess turned into one pile of black tarnish shingles that he stacked up near the house. It is a junk pile that he should have disposed of. I am very ashamed of myself for allowing this conman and his family into my life. I have been very very I'll and all I had on my mind was to stop the roof from leaking. I am a 100% disabled Veteran and didn't use good judgement when dealing with this Kenman (conman). Thankfully my son has came to visit and he is going to inspect the work that was done and hopefully help me make a good decision on how to proceed with this shameful position that I am trying to explain here. I didon't not get Kens last name or any identification on him. I know his wife/girlfriend works at Stevie market in Harrison, Michigan. I know by sight what she looks like a and can identify her car. I know Ken drives a red ford truck with lights on the rollbar. I have the receipts from Home Depot with the timestamp for visual identification if the security tapes are accessible. As of now, I sit in a home with a leaking roof that I paid to have fixed. I am ashamed that I trusted a family man that convinced me that he was trying to teach his kids a good honest way to live. My son told me that it will all work out and to not worry about the roof because it will get repaired. I do believe him. God Bless Us All.
