I just received the following text message on my cell phone on the Sprint network: From:1234 Msg: Card Services Alert: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 541-663-4236 to REACTIVATE your CARD. I had also recieved the exact same message ~10 minutes before, except the number to call was 877-691-3053. A search for the 877 number had about 4 reports all within a half hour period. One person said they called the number and got a robotic message: "Thank you for calling the credit union center 24 hours card services. To activate your card press one. To c****e your personal identification number press 2. To end this call press the pound sign." They pressed 1 and entered the card number 1234-5678-9012-3456 and it ***g up on Them. Clearly a scam to get someone to punch in real credit card numbers.Just after that an Oregon police officer said that he just took a fraud report on the same number. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER. The text has already been forwarded to Sprint's fraud department.

I got the same message. Everyone that gets this should call Sprint or your carrier's customer service line and report it so it can be flagged in their system. The more reports they have the better it can be tracked down and stopped and hopefully prosecuted.
