FYI. These are debt collectors. They have purchased your debt for pennies on the dollar. If you owe a debt , I encourage you to pay it. However, I have been there, done that. I am very familiar with the FDCRA. If you owe a debt for less than $100, it is not recoverable. If a collector contacts you via phone, and you answer, your file then a***n becomes active from that day forward for another 7 years. That is how it remains on your credit report for so long. It is considered last point of contact. Every time you talk or speak just one word to a collector, it then moves it forward another seven years. Just FYI.
