This is a call back from Rep John Yarmuth's office following up with a message I sent to him. If you've ever contacted his office he is certainly good with responding.

Re; 202-226-9928 I received yet another call from the same woman from a Maryland/Washington line (area code 410: different number). During this call, I realized that I was orininally mistaken in that these calls are not 'real-time' calls but recorded; includilng wording & pauses that clearly mumble words of cancelling the calls & put 'pauses' in the conversation that had me convinced. No longer - as I realize they are all recorded. However, the caller can apparently choose different area codes to initiate the call from (202 & 410- Washington DC area) that were both used with me. Of course, you can't call them back. I will continue to do***ent these calls & will eventually figure out who is calling; & then decide on what legal course of action I may take. As a retired investigator, this gives me so****ing to do !

To Bonnie et al - 2018 This # (202-226-9928) has called me on my cell for the last several days until I answered to find a woman who was s***d-talking me about a kind of sales pitch. T'was not anything to do with Congress. I have traced this number to find it is being hidden - no record of location or originator (so far); but I know it was live, as the woman stopped talking for a moment when I said so****ing, & (she) called me back moments later. I will continue to run this down. It DOES originate from DC.
(202) 226-9928 - July 17th, 2018 8:02pm
Apparently this is as some earlier commentors noted: it is a line to call out on for Congress. The staffer for my state congressman left me a voicemail regarding a message I had sent earlier and gave me a different call back number if I needed to contact them regarding the message.

(202) 226-9928 - August 29th, 2012 3:10pm
It turns out to be an autogenerated number from the Capitol that Capitol staff can call out on but noone can call back. This from the Capitol Switchboard. Why on earth anyone from the Capitol/ Congress would not want you to know who called or how to call back, but many government offices are getting strange that way. I was calling members of Congress a couple of weeks ago.
(202) 226-9928 - September 22nd, 2010 4:00am

I got a call from this number at 2:00 A.M. Very weird. If the number is legit then the caller must have dialed me in error.Else very weird.
(202) 226-9928 - July 30th, 2009 4:00am
I got a voicemail from this number. The caller was following up on a message I had sent to Congressman John Campbell's office (R-CA 48).
(202) 226-9928 - April 13th, 2009 4:00am
This was a legitimate call. It came from my Congressman's office where I was trying to get a US Flag flown for an Eagle Scout. But the above comments are correct, in that it's only a "covering" phone number - and not the specific phone number of the person calling.
(202) 226-9928 - March 26th, 2009 4:00am
This number actually appears on the caller ID regardless of whether or not the caller wants to remain anonymous. It's like calling from a hotel--the number that shows up on the person's caller ID is the hotel's external number, not the phone number of the actual room you are calling from. That's why you often have to dial '9' first from a hotel phone, just as you have to dial '9' to call out from a Congressional office. Believe me, it would be much less complicated for everyone (including the people calling) if it just showed a valid callback number!
(202) 226-9928 - March 10th, 2009 4:00am
I seems that this is a number used by US Reps when they want to remain anonymous - when i called it back it said it was a non-working number for the US house of reps. Apparently, it's been in existence for some years based on the comments here and other websites, but it's always a "non-working" number. Sneaky i call it.
(202) 226-9928 - March 2nd, 2009 5:00am
The person with this number called me twice... and my voicemail was a recording of me playing a song I made up on the piano (I wouldn't be able to remember it so I recorded it and saved it)... so they couldn't leave a messagecould it have been a congressperson?I was in contact with the senators and congressppls for a nomination to the naval academy. which didn't work out btw.I wonder who it was. I was outside shoveling, and I didn't have my phone on me.

I was given a couple of numbers(seat number i guess) and was told to pick them up at the congressman office in DC. However, I decided to call this number back a day later, its not a working number. dont know if its legit or a scam. Anyone else has this similar call?

(202) 226-9928 - June 13th, 2008 4:00am
This message was left by a male caller on my office voice mail on 6-12-2008 @ 11:31am Alaska Time. It was definitely a male caller who did not leave his name. The message said: "How come you're not available? All these weeks and I haven't called you and then you're not there when I do call you. You outta give me a call. Okay-bye."The caller did not leave a phone number to call him back at. The phone number was recorded by my office voice mail system along with the date & ti*****e voice sounded strangely familiar, however when I called the phone number back, it said "You have reached a non-working phone # at the U.S. House of Representatives. G3B".
(202) 226-9928 - June 12th, 2008 4:00am

(202) 226-9928 - June 12th, 2008 4:00am
I submitted an email a couple weeks to my U.S. Congressman. The number we are all getting is indeed from the U.S. Capitol complex. I know him personally since he was one of my school teachers in Utah. He called me back from there and left a message. You might be getting the calls if you emailed any officials with offices there. They are not prank calls.

(202) 226-9928 - February 6th, 2008 5:00am
It's a generic line ID for the US Capitol complex. When someone from a USC line calls out, all IDs are listed with this number. The same is true within large corporations with complicated phone systems.
(202) 226-9928 - December 11th, 2007 5:00am
Every phone call that originates from a non-public line in the House of Representatives has this number show up on caller id. It's not a 'real' House number, it's just there to let you know that someone from the House called.
(202) 226-9928 - December 4th, 2007 5:00am

(202) 226-9928 - September 1st, 2007 4:00am
Received a call from this number 202-226-9928.A voicemail was left by someone named "Felicia or Phylcia Reynolds".I have always been active writing letters to Congressional offices so I was not surprised when Ms. Reynolds said "this is in response to your letter dated...." and then the phone line disconnected.I dialed *69 which provided the number 202-226-9928 in addition to the time of the call. The *69 automated operator stated this phone line belonged to a nonworking number at the House of Representatives. I then called the phone number and a man answered. The strange thing about the male answering was the fact that he did not give his name when he answered...It was NOT like he said "Hi, it's Bob..." found out who you were and then s****ed talking. He said nothing more than "hello".Can you say creepy???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
