Some lady called from this phone number today. She wanted to speak to my wife (account holder) and when I told her she was unavailible she wanted to speak to her spouse. The first thing she asked was for me to confirm my address. When I said just the street address she asked for the whole thing. So I gave it to her. She then went on to tell me my account was behind. The bill we last got said we had to pay $46 immediately so I went in and paid $100 on the bill. The caller said that I needed to pay $114.95 immediatelly. I told her that I paid the $100 today. She said I still needed to pay the other $15. From there she went and pestered me about paying today with a credit card. I told her that I would pay it at the office. She then threatened me saying that I would be charged additional fees if I did that. She told me that the office will charge me $5 extra for paying there and $1.99 extra if I was to call Charter and make a payment. But if I paid right now with her there would be no additional charges. This truely sounds like a pile of bull to me. I have never heard of a company charging you an additional fee just to pay your bill. THIS CALL SCREAMED SCAM! If you receive a call from this number do not give them your credit card info. These people obviously have your name. Trick you into giving your address and then follow up by trying to get your cc digits. I will be sure to call Charter tommorrow and warn them of what is going on. From there

***, I just s****ed getting these ****-up calls too!!! AFTER ordering CHARTER!!! They tend to call at the most inopportune times and I, as many of you, only have a cell phone....they always call when I'm at work. Unrelated: had the worst experience w/ this independent contractor that attempted to install Charter cable for me. Charter ****s now, especially because of releasing our numbers to these PRANK callers.

Have Charter too... get a call from this number at least once daily... never leave a message though.Annoying auto-call BS!!!

If you use charter Service and have a business relationship with them, unfortunatly by law they are allowed to contact you.

Called me a***n yes****ay at 7:20 PM. This time a guy with an Indian/Pakki accent was there. He was getting set up to pitch me so****ing. Told him I made a complaint to Charter about these calls etc. He asked me 'when did you complain', I told him 'yes****ay'. He says 'Oh well, it can take up to 30 days for the complaint to...' I cut him off, told him, 'No, no, the lady sent an email and said the calls should stop right away, obviously that was bull and I will have to call them a***n.' I added, 'If the calls don't stop then I will drop the phone service, simple as that, goodbye'. And I ***g up.Charter, you get one more chance to get it right and then I switch to a different carrier.

Been getting a call every day for 2 weeks, never leave a message on the ma****e, when I answer it's dead air. Caller I.D. shows it is Charter. I called them back at the 888-438-2427 number and got Charter, into Customer Service and described the calls. Lady says she's sending an email to my local Charter office with instructions to stop calling me. We'll see. If they don't stop I will drop their lousy phone service.

We are Charter customers and just s****ed getting these calls every day. They are su****ious to me because the callers represent themselves as reps of Charter, but do not have any information about our account. The slick fast talker yes****ay wanted to know what we are paying because he can get me a better deal for less plus upgrade the TV service and s***d up internet, etc., etc. I ***g up on him and reported the incident to Charter by e-mail. The response was interest and a promise to forward this to the right person. Today two more calls came (the first one, ***ody was on the line, the second a young woman who ***bled our very simple name). I told her not to call us any more. I reported these calls to Charter also. I am waiting to hear from Charter if this is a s****ed Caller ID and some scam from a rival company.

I kept wonderin what this number was but now I realize my friend works at Charter.com and she lives in Misourri and is probably sneakin a quick break. So umm yeah, she gets paid to make calls to people like you all to try to sell extra's on your cable. Not a bad job either! Great benny's and some serious $$$!
(888) 438-2427 - September 12th, 2008 4:00am
I went so far as to go to Charter's office in my hometown and told them to stop calling me. The gal pecked on her computer and apologized and told me that they would stop calling. Did it stop? No, of course not. I too have went out of my way to get on do not call lists. Chase bank did the same thing after getting on their do not call list. I think they see your number on the do not call list and think, hey, we got a live one, let's ring them up!
(888) 438-2427 - July 24th, 2008 4:00am
I guess I've been fortunate. I have only received one call from them in the past 6 months and it occured yes****ay. It as a good call too because they let me know about a new rate plan that could lower my payment. Been with charter for about 7 years now and they seem ok.

I just switched my Charter account to my new home on Friday and on Monday I got a call from 888-438-2427 on my cell which is the number Charter has to reach me. I was in the car and it dropped so I didn't think too much about it by was curious who owned the number. I am on every do not call list even with my cell. After reading all this I will never answer a 888-438 number a***n. On top of that Charter had my new setup all messed up as well!
(888) 438-2427 - May 2nd, 2008 4:00am
I have Charter, but the weird thing is, I gave em my cell phone number, but this number calls my house...
(888) 438-2427 - April 19th, 2008 4:00am
I just got a call from 888-438-2427, no response to my saying 'hello', just dead air. I'm not sure if it was Charter or who, but, if I do find that it is them, I will promptly call them and tell them 'One more phone call and you can come get your cable tv box and discontinue the high s***d internet'. They used to call about once a month trying to sell me their phone service. I've told them repeatedly to STOP CALLING ME, that I work for the phone company and do not need your phone service. Do they listen and stop calling? Nope. *****S!
(888) 438-2427 - March 25th, 2008 4:00am
Have Charter and keep getting calls; never leave a message. Charter claims not to know a thing. I ponder if Charter's security was breached and we haven't been made aware, or if the (possible) thief/ves are using Charter's 888 # as a smoke screen...

A sales person (female) who claimed to be with Sirius satellite radio. Offered a 2nd free radio for free with a discounted monthly price because I'm already a 'valued' subscriber. Everything sounded great at first (because I absolutely love my sirius radio!) until they asked for credit info. Told them that I thought they would put it on my current account and bill me, and that I'd rather not give my credit card # over the phone, said that she could not access the sirius billing system to confirm my credit card #. RED FLAG! They offered legitimate 'sounding' information such as radio esn and acct. number. I told the woman that I would call sirius myself with a phone number that I know is valid, she insisted that I call back the 888-438 number. I called the real sirius number 888-get-sirius, first of all, I had problems accessing my account, this is interesting because I tried to access my account using my home telephone number, and apparently I never gave sirius my new home number! the number at which the 888-438 sales lady called me on! RED FLAG! SO, I updated my contact information with the 'real' sirius folks, and while we were on the phone, I asked if sirius had any deals being made for a new free 2nd radio with a discounted monthly price, you guessed it! the answer was NO, and I was warned to be careful accepting calls from anyone claiming to be sirius, and to never give my credit card # over the phone. DUH! So, unless there is in fact a program going on that the real sirius salesperson didn't know about, I'd RUN, NOT WALK, away from anybody calling from 888-438-2427....By the way,, I also have charter. ? hmmm

I gave my phone number to Charter when they installed my internet. I asked them not to use it or distribute it. Since the installation I have been ****arded with calls from different Charter locations throughout the country. I only have a cell phone and every time I answer my phone I am being charged for the time. I called Verizon who say they can do nothing. I called Charter and they say they will stop but do not. They just keep shifting locations. If I ever deal with Charter a***n I will never give them my phone number.
