I have tried everything I know to stop receiving calls from this number 888-204-8***, to no avail. At this point when the number appears on my caller ID for 800 Service and this particular number I just let it ring. How do you know it is Discover Card? Just because the caller says they are from Discover? Doesn't it occur to folks that the caller maybe LYING about who they represent? I agree that this is a scam directed towards fooling you to get any of your private info (ie; Soc Num, etc.). Also those who are running a fraudulent scam operation most likely don't care about the 'Do Not Call' list. They are already committing a felony. I don't think they are concerned about the 'list'. BTW I just received such a call on my cell phone. They use robo-callers that just dial every number in sequence looking for a hit.

I received a call from this number and recived a recorded message instructing me to press 9 to find out how I can lower the interest rate on my credit card (it didn't say which one). I ***g up because I was concerned that it could be a scam trying to get me to reveal my Social Security number and bank account numbers, etc. I see in some of the other comments about this phone number that the callers claim to be from Discover Card. I looked up the phone numbers for Discover Card and 888-204-8942 was not a**** them.

These people call several times a day, EVERY day!!! I finally picked up to find out who they were. I should have known. Discover Card. They always use very aggressive, tenacious telemarketing. I cancelled my card. Will have my husband do the same as they are really calling to talk to him. I urge everyone to do the same. Let's send Discover a message that their marketing tactics are BOTHERSOME and UNACCEPTABLE!

I have received MANY calls over several months from this number: 888-204-8*** I am seriously tired of the calls which I answered initally, but now look at caller ID first and ignore the call. They identified themselves as Discover Card asking for my husband, wanting to reduce the rate on his card. It is a "ploy." He let them know he is not interested, but they keep calling.
