Just use first names: I called the number on my phone back because I had no idea who it was and I don't answer numbers I don't know, and a very young woman answered, saying, "This is Linda". My old loan was forgiven due to total didability, do they're barking up the wrong tree!

NRI buys old debts incl student loans. I sent Dept of Ed a requested signed medical form from my doctor stating I am totally disabled. NRI called me a liar several times & kept threatening to take all of my wages! I haven't worked since middle of 2010 so they told me I need to go to rehab to learn a s****. I use MSN behind my name but that can't make me walk or stand or be painfree. NRI guy said I lied about having spinal cord surgery 4 times & that I am faking to get out of paying my debt. I have their # now in my Don't answer profile.

This is NRI a company contracted with Dept. of Education. They apparently do not purchase these loans from them but they "Service" these loans. They sounded like a joke to me So i brushed it off, and just a few weeks later they threatned to garnish my check. I TOLD HIM TO SHOW ME THE COURT ORDER! and he told me there is no need for a court order.... It sounded like a crock of S*** so i ignored it.... My wife told me to call them back but I DIDNT LISTEN as usual... lol They added collection fees and penalties, and they eventually called my employer and s****ed my wage deduction. Yaw you went this far to do your home work or research...IF YOU HAVE A Defaulted student loan take care of it. I payed an arm and a leg trying to figure out how to stop wage garnishment. I talk to lawyers, debt relief companies, debt settlement companies, and my CPA... None of them knew what to do....I LOVE THE INTERNET... I found a solution shortly... I read a book called the "Student Loan Blue print" and I finally stopped the garnishment and hopped on minimum monthly payments NO THANKS TO MY FAMILY LAWYER... PS:NRI could **** a big one....EVERYONE IF YOU hAVE A STUDENT LOAN TAKE CARE OF IT, BUT DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST... ITS LIKE BUY A CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME... ITS LIKE PULLING YOUR TEETH OUT...http://www.studentloanfundamentals.com

called my cell phone, asked for me, says "we both know who lives there" and quoted last 4 of my ss#, to which I said, write me a letter, I don't give out any personal info on the phone. Beware! Identify thieves often get one piece at a time.FYI, the cell is not my phone, has a different area code from where I live, and should not be****ociated with my name.

Just got a call from 877-221-9729: 7:30 p.m. 12-21-09. I was not at home but a man with an foreign accent, talked to my husband and was very interested in knowing if I was working. He said that his name was Tom Wilson, and he wanted me to call him back ASAP. Calling back, I got an answering ma****e that identified the source as National Recoveries Collection Agency. I ***g up. We are on a no-call list, but this fraud slipped through.
