They call 5 times a day and say NOTHING. That IS harassment. Tell me who you are ! I've gone online and put my next 10 payments into the system and they still call. I'm ONLY 17 days behind. You'd think I was 6 months the way they call so much. No wonder they are wanting money from Obama. They are trying to pay those foreign harrassing callers from collection that call you so much. I bet their phone bill is in the Billions. I hope Obama stops all foreign business and gives it back to Americans.

Received a call from them this morning right at 8:00 a.m. It is GMAC collections. They sent my account to internal collections after it was only 3 days late as of this morning. Since that time, I have received 4 additional phone calls from them, and its only 11:45 a.m. These people are unrelenting and absolutely will not stop calling you. Even if you work out a payment arrangement, or advise them that the check is in the mail, as in my case it must've been delayed because of Presidents' Day (hence internal collections after only 3 f***ing days late). I really hate GMAC and try to avoid financing through them if you can help it.

I received YET another call from this number..This time i got the name spelled out from the lady calling and called back to ask them to take me off their calling list since I have NEVER had not will I ever have a loan with GMAC. Last call i received i was advised i would need the first/last name of the person they were actually calling for in order to be taken off their list...thsi still did not work. I finally became SO annoyed that he advised me he was "ending the call since i could not handle it in a professional manner" They were VERY adamant about wanting my SSN# which i refused to give them and even though I told them no less than 10 times that I don't have a GMAC account they still asked for my account number over and over.

They called me from this number and it was a wrong number. English definitely is not their first language. It says "please hold for an important message" and then someone foreign comes on the line and asks for someone that is not me.

This is a legitimate number for accounts that fall into collections. The reason there is dead air is because it's an "automatic dialer". Basically, the system is set up so a computer dial your telephone number. The collector is not aware that a number has been dialed until they received a beep in there headset letting them know the computer has made a connection. The collector does not have any of your information prior to the call being made. It is only after the connection is made they will have access to your account. If you just spoke to a collector and told them your going to pay and don't make a "firm" arrangment which mean a payment by phone or provide them with a date the payment would be made (usually before 30 days) your number will continue to be recycled in the computer and you continue to get calls everyday until a payment post to account. If you **** up, your number go back into the computer and the computer will continue to call. Once a collector has secured a "firm payment" (which can differ from company to company)the calls should stop. All of the car companies have this system. You hear the same complaints from GMAC, Chrysler, Ford, etc. You can contact the company and send them a letter advising you don't want the calls and to communicate only by mail and they will take your number out of the system, legally they have to do this. I sometime get the same type a call which is extremly annoying. You can either ignore it however you will continue to get the dead air calls, make the payment or callback and make arrangments.

It's GMAC. If you don't pay your payment in full they will reposses your car!! Trust me, I had called and asked if I could split the payment over two weeks when I got paid. They said not a problem!! Next thing you know, someone's at my door with a repossesion slip for my car!! I only had 6 months left to pay on the car. I had to pay the balance full to get it back or they were going to auction it off! I would be responsible for any balance remaining after the auction............Their f***ed! I will never, nor will anyone I know, finance a car through them. I hope someone files a class action law suit a***nst them!

(866) 579-8583 - August 27th, 2008 4:00am
This number calls my house phone, work phone and cell phone everyday!! I may have made a late payment or two over the last 5 years, but my account is completely up to date. The thing we all have in common is that we all obviously have leases or financing through GMAC, if it is a scam they must be getting outr information thru GMAC.

They called my home yes****ay trying to find my sister-in-law. I called them back and told them she did not live here and to remove my home phone number from their calling list. They just called me a***n 10 minutes ago. It seems like they don't care about the privacy of people that are not involved in their disputes.

Is there an email address I can write to for GMAC since they keep calling me. I have a lease with them. Due to hard times and a divorce I am finding it almost impossible to pay the $706.00 lease payment not to mention the gas the truck eats ($200.00 a week). I paid 1/2 of the lease payment with intentions of paying another 1/2 but they keep calling me constantly. I was told I could request them to contact me via e-mail. I want to put this in writing for do***entation. Anyone out there can help I would greatly appreciate it.

This number is GMAC and they will NOT leave their name. Why should I return a call when they refuse to leave their name?
(866) 579-8583 - October 18th, 2007 4:00am
GMAC and they will call relentlessly, even after you make your payment...not to mention that it sounds like they are calling you from a cave in Afghanistan and all you hear is background noise and ec***s.
