After receiving several calls from their computer, with the phony Anette Smith speaking intermittently and the really low-quality computer voice for the rest, I finally decided to see what scam this is. I called the number, got a PBX auto attendant, and waited on hold for about 10 minutes. At that point, an Asian-sounding woman picked up the line, and said "billing dep****ment". I said, "Annette Smith please" (knowing full well I wouldn't get to speak to this contrived person). The Asian woman said that Annette Smith can't accept incoming phone calls. I said "well, a woman identifying herself as Anette Smith left messages that I need to call her". The woman then began her process of trying to extract information from me, asking first for my phone number (I have caller ID blocked), then name, etc. I had to tell this woman several times that I refused to give her any information other than the phoney reference number. She finally asked for the reference number, which I gave her. She then asked for my phone number a***n, to which I responded "no, I gave you the reference number, look it up". To that she replied that the reference number references several accounts. All of this went on for several more minutes, with her trying to get information out of me, me trying to get information out of her, and me quoting laws to her, and how her company is breaking these laws, and how she is an accessory to these illegal actions. Ultimately, she told me that since I refuse to give her any information, that she is ending the call. I said, "make sure you don't call back". Of course, since I gave her no information and their bogus reference number is, well, bogus, she will not be able to remove me from their list. So I'll repeat the above procedure every time they call. I suspect these calls have to do with an order I *began* placing with BeachBody, trying to purchase the "Insanity" program. The reason I discontinued the order is that their advertising is very deceptive. You don't get the whole program for the price they quote on the TV ad and their shipping charge was ridiculously high $40 if I remember correctly - for a handful of DVDs??). And while trying to place the order, I had a very high-pressure salesperson keep trying to upsell me all kinds of other products (including the rest of the program). All in all, fo a approximately $120 program, it would have cost me in excess of $200, with an initial outlay of about $100. What a scam. All of that caused me to cancel the order after I had already given them my credit card number. Beachbody is the only company that I have dealt with that I can imagine doing this, as most of those TV mail-order products are marketed and sold by a couple of shyster-run companies. At least one of these companies, that does nearly all the infomercials for every product you see on TV, is owned by by a ghost corporation with sub-companies incorporated in Nevada and Delaware. They have been around for many years, despite many legal actions a***nst them. If nothing else, they are pros at side-stepping the law while scamming innocent people out of their money.

Calls many times a day ... very annoying. Usually I ignore it, but today I decided to ask to be put on their do-not-call list. Never got that far though. When I answered, a recorded voice claiming to be "Annette Smith" asked if I was, then 1=Yes 2=No. I hit 2, then it asked if lived with me, at which point I ***g up.
