If you do not owe anything, then somebody used you as a reference on college applications/loans and they will try to find out if you have a number or a way of contacting the person they are looking for

No, it's not about any student loans. This is a company that takes on people who have any sort of debt, they then try to collect it. I'm preety sure there's a scam somewhere in it. I know BMG sells peoples names to collection agencies, maybe some other place too. Looks like most of the people here have the same things in common.
