This is Arbitron survey they were purchased by the Nielsen rating services. The phone repeatedly rings twice you answer it and no now wha is there. They are nuisances at conducting surveys and have found out my cell phone number. I finally spoke to someone and asked to be put on their Do Not Call list.
(410) 312-8222 - January 24th, 2014 9:43pm
Call my MIL all time and she picked up and they wanted her social security number and other info about who lives there etc. If these are survey people why do they ask for such personal message. Thankfully my MIL is smart and told them to ***** off! Unfortunately they continue to call her.

It's a tv and radio survey. I took the survey over the phone ( about 5 min) and they sent me ten dollars in the mail. Then they sent me another survey in the mail, I filled it out and they sent me twenty dollars.
(410) 312-8222 - September 20th, 2012 4:18pm
Survey company for TV/radio ratings. As they are a phone survey company they are exempted from the DNC registry but if you answer and tell them to remove your name they should be able to put you on their internal DNC list

This would normally be a survey, but not in my case. Earlier this summer, Arbitron selected my family at random to keep individual diaries of what my household listens to on the radio for a week, s****ing this Thursday. Judging from the posts below, not many know that Arbitron is the company that generates the ratings of AM, FM, and TV programs (or used to as far as TV goes). The rates that advertisers pay for radio and TV commercials are determined from these ratings. When they called, I did not recognize their number, so I didn't answer. But I will call them back. We'll see what they are up to....
(410) 312-8222 - November 2nd, 2010 5:34pm

(410) 312-8222 - January 13th, 2009 1:41pm
This arbitron, inc. place calls my house 3 to 4 times a day. My number is on the do not call regsitry but they still continue to call. I have a newborn baby and they called after 9 pm (my time) one night and woke him up - that was the final straw! I answered, waited for w***ver was on the other end to connect, told him to never call here a***n and that it was was WAY too late to be calling me. I asked if they were a telemarketer and he said it's a radio survey. They still continue to call 3 times a day, all hours. I wish I knew how to make them stop. I am ****ed!
(410) 312-8222 - November 14th, 2009 9:25pm
Ha! Do these calls ever stop? I won't answer, I don't want to do any surveys! So far they've called 15 times. Positive note: I'm trying to train the dog to not get excited when the phone rings, so when Arbitron calls, I just let it ring and try to teach the dog to be calm and go to his bed. Calls so far: 11-14 3:54PM, 10:40AM; 11-13 6:42PM, 10:14AM; 11-12 4:59PM, 9:37AM; 11-11 4:42PM, 10:42AM, 8:36AM; 11-10 6:07PM, 10:45AM; 11-09 7:05PM; 11-07 5:57PM; 11-06 7:21PM; 11-05 11:38AM Hey Arbitron! Do youA: Welcome the survery calls - love talking to strangers on the phoneB: Find them annoyingC: Too busy to talk - call a***n laterThank you for your time - I will call a***n in a few days to see if you c****ed your answer.Have a great day."

They call over and over and over. Sometimes leaving messages, sometimes not. They've been calling non-stop for at least a week. Just in the past 3 days they have called at 4:30pm, 8:45pm . . . the next day at 9:00am, 11:45am, 7:45pm and today at 7:55am, 2:00pm, 6:30pm, 9:30pm. They left a message on my answering ma****e today at 6:30pm saying "We were just trying to contact you ONE LAST TIME to see if you would like to be part of our research survey about local radio stations." ONE LAST TIME, I think not. THEN they called a***n at 9:30pm saying "This is ____ calling from Arbitron. We aren't trying to sell anything. We do surveys on local radio listeners in your area and were just wondering what radio stations you listen to." I told the girl we listen exclusively to satellite radio, do NOT listen to local radio stations and that it was 9:30pm and I DO NOT appreciate telemarketing calls especially not this late at night. Her answer was "Um, whatever." then just sat there on the line not saying anything until I finally ***g up on her. We shall see if that actually stops the calls . . . :(
(410) 312-8222 - September 6th, 2008 8:55am
I received my first call on Labor Day at 10 am. It was my day off to sleep late and they woke me up. They s****ed off with telling me that they are not selling anything and that they are doing a survey. They asked me if I listened to the radio yes****ay. I said, "No. You woke me up. Thanks a lot." Then I ***g up on them. They called me a***n the same day at 8:27 pm. I let the answering ma****e pick it up because I don't wish to parti****te in their survey. My number is private and I also have put myself on the do not call registry. I guess they are using that list to actually call. They are an annoyance. I want them to stop calling me.

We couldn't stand their calls anymore. We found a very simple solution for all annoyance calls. We did some research on telephones and went to Best Buy and purchased a Panasonic phone Model KX-TG9333 DECT 6.0. This model has three handsets but you can get the same model with one, two or three. It allows you to block up to 20 phone numbers as long as you have Caller ID. It rings once or twice then disconnects the call. The caller never hears anything. The readout on the phone and the "missed call" list shows "Call Blocked". Just make sure you let the phone ring once or twice to see if it's a blocked call or someone you want to talk to. WE LOVE IT!!!!

I just s****ed getting these calls as well. I tried emailing them at [email protected] (from an email address I never use) to get them to cease and desist. I think everyone who receives these annoying calls should send Abritron an annoying letter or post card ... with postage due that they have to pay if possible. Here is there address with some ******'s name who you are supposed to write: Chris Johnson Arbitron Ratings 9705 Patuxent Woods Drive Columbia, MD 21046-1521 Or call them from an upspecified phone number ... their number:

I said yes, but then he asked me if I would like to receive so****ing else (I thought he was going to try to sell me so****ing) and I ***g up. but maybe it was just really a survey.

Yep, I have getting these calls too here in Texas!I just look at the call screening (a great help) and if I don't recognize thenumber I don't pick up. If it important enough they can leave a message. But I will not be answering any calls for Arbitron!Call screening...a great help in avoiding pick up of these unwanted calls!

Hey, I just had an idea. Let's answer their questions. Let's throw them off. Tell them you listen to some obscure station in your area. Like so****ing on AM. Tell them you listen to it 24/7. That way all their sponsers/radio commericials will pay big money to advertise on that station. Hopefully.

After agreeing to parti****te in their survey, we received an introductory letter that included five dollars. Then they sent one diary (to record which radio stations you listen to for one week)for each household member. Each diary came with a few one-dollar bills. No problems with rudeness on the phone.

I have received phone calls from this number (which belongs to Arbitron) every single day for the last 3 weeks. I told the caller that I was not interested in what they were "offering" - and still I continue to receive these phone calls.

This company calls our home many times a day, including hours that are not legal. They just called here a***n this morning around 7:30am. Our number has been unlisted since we had it, and has always been on the do-not-call list.

These people call day night and weekends at all hours, even though they were told we were not interested in answering their survey. We are on DoNotCall list and it is about time some action is taken on this company...

Calls 2-3 times a day sometimes after 9:00PM. They have left a message they are conducting a survey on radio stations. If I do not answer is because I do not want your call.
