We have been receiving as many calls from this number as well, at any time of day and evening, including weekends. I, too, have answered and no one has been there - until tonight. At nearly 9 pm, I answered and the male caller asked for my wife by name. I asked him to please identify himself,so he gave me a name(Greg so****ing or other)and a***n asked to speak to her. I asked who he was with and he told me he was with the State Fire Marshall's****ociation, and insisted on speaking to my wife. I asked him to please remove our # from his organization's calling list, and the **** s****ed arguing with me. At one point he said since he had asked for her, that SHE would have to personally ask him to quit calling! Any one care to give odds on him getting one red cent of a donation from us in the future?

I have been having the same problem for several months now. They call and as soon as you answer, they **** up. I tried calling back and always get a busy signal. This is getting to the point where I want to c****e my number to a private number and I have had this phone number for many years. I also have reported it to the phone company, but apparently nothing can be done. All I know is that it is a Birmingham, AL number. So****ing needs to be done about these people. Any ideas?

I get these calls all the time. I have a device that will not let my phone ring when I have the No. stored in it, but will still display the No. on the I.D. It is from the North side of Birmingham at the County Jail and Sherieffs Office on 7th Ave N. looking for donations. They still call after telling them no and not to call anymore. When their numbers (they have several) comes up, I simply don't answer.

Got a call and it ***g up. Checking on this website to see who it may be and my wife mentions that she heard about a program that dials several times a day to try to determine when someone is actually going to be home. When they finally get that info, some real person then calls. This is a smart way of increasing the odds for the bulk callers.

Same deal here. No one on the line, and unable to connect when dialing it back. The one-way nature of telemarketing numbers is frustrating to say the least. Although as evidenced in the above threads, even if you COULD get through, what are the odds of the *******s on the other end of the line even giving a ****?

Regarding 205-259-2092: This number has called our home every single day for the past 7 months or so. I continue to report it to the "Do Not Call" registry but the calls continue. They never leave a message and if I try to call back it's either busy or no answer. Pure harassment.
(205) 259-2092 - September 16th, 2008 4:00am
I received a call 9/16/08 at 3:05 PM, No one there, I also tried to call back as I was expecting a call from my Dr. There was no ring to go through. I am also on the "Do Not Call" list.

I get this call several times a day and have for a couple of months or so. I'm so sick of it. I don't answer any caller that won't identify himself/herself. Sick of it though.

I've never answered it but I get calls from this number all the time. I'm sick of it. What can be done? Surely so****ing can be done

I received a call from this number today, but it only wrong once. Caller ID identified this number and Dept of Public Safety. Naturally, I called my family members, who were traveling in cars, to make sure they were not in an accident. Later this evening, I received another call asking for my husband by first name only. Sounded so much like a personal call. I told him my husband was not available and could I take a message. He told me to tell my husband that "Donald Murdock" called. All the criteria for a personal call. Caller ID revealed this number and Dept. of Public Safety. My husband does not know this man and has not been in contact with him. He called the number and got the same sound that is not quite a busy signal. AT&T operator has no listing for this number in their records but stated it was a Birmingham number.

We're getting calls like those described from others on this site. I thought it was my crazy ex-wife calling from another number, but apparently that isn't the case. My wife called it today and got an answer but no further conversation from the person on the other end. What can be done about this type of harassment? We are listed on the "do not call" web site but that seems to be joke.
(205) 259-2092 - October 8th, 2007 4:00am
Got two calls from this number about 20 minutes apart. When you call the number, you get a funny tone, not quite a busy signal, but I don't know what else it sounds like.I tried to look this number up on service called "Intelius.com". They said it was a wireless number and if I would kindly pony up $14.95, they would tell me more. Yeah, right, that's going to happen.
(205) 259-2092 - August 4th, 2007 4:00am
Same problem as others have reported; I receive as many as two calls per day, as soon as I answer they **** up. This is extremely frustrating and I would like the calls to stop.

This is either the AL State Patrol or Sheriff's Dept. looking for donations as usual.
