To summarize all these comments, which are all true, we probably will not be able to affect a c****e in the ****ods being used by the General Electric Corporation, in handling and selling their credit accounts. You can feel sure that their highly paid legal department has researched the laws and regulations, to find the loopholes to allow them to do this. Complaint calls to the FCC and FTC may do some good to call attention to the matter, but their hands may also be tied, due to the loopholes As for trying to fight the calls themselves, this is all computer generated, designed a***n, by some highly paid ****ysts, to avoid your attempts to disarm it. Calls, answered by silence, are phishing calls, to determine if the number is a "live" one. This cuts down on the number of calls that need to be placed by their under paid employees in India, who speak poor "Engrish", as one comment said. Leaving your phone connected to the call does not tie up their line, as the computer senses this and disconnects. If you have service allows you to block numbers, this may work until they switch to using another number. Yes, there are ways to determine if a person has a cell number, from identifying them from their landline number. A***n, the best advice towards handling this problem is to just not answer calls from an unknown number. I know it is annoying but it is just a fact of life these days. For that matter, we really don't know who is behind this website (numberguru.com). These guys just don't quit. It doesn't seem to matter that we are on a Do Not Call List. We finally got some software that works pretty good. We are just tired of all the calls from non-profit organizations, political organizations & just plain annoying. The software allows you to pick the message you want played back when these people call & you add phone numbers as you need. If a phone number is on the list, your phone will ring once then the software will pick up & play the message. The only drawback to the software is the computer needs to be on for it to work but you don't have to have it on the internet. As soon as we find out the same company is calling but with a different phone number, we just add that phone number. It is still abnoxious no matter what & it should be stopped. If it would be one of us continually calling them, they would turn us in for harassment.

The only thing that showed on my ID was Dayton, OH.I had decided that I would answer their call and tell them we were on a NO CALL LIST and not to call back. Of course it was a recording. They said we were behind with our payment but that is a lie because they are set up for auto payment. I just ***g up on their ma****e. The other thing I had decided to do was to answer their call and not **** up for a long time so they could not use their phone.

This number belongs to GE money. I do not and have never had any dealings with them. Somehow they have gotten my cell phone number and call several times a day. Each day they call from a different number. When I answer there is no one there. I have called them back and asked them to remove my number from their call list. They say that number is not on their list. It's driving me crazy!!!! I've put my number on the do not call list but they are still calling. I don't know what else to do

me too, and it's annoying. i called from my home phone to be taken off the do not call list, and the recording told me i was not calling from my own phone. unbelievable!!! is there anyway you can file harrassment on these callers? we have a private number that we pay extra money for and these callers are still able to get it. who want's to be bothered at all hours of the day? if we wanted any of their ****, we would go looking for them. they need to leave people alone!!!!!!

I have been receiving calls from these people for the last two days, they finally left a message today with a number to call back saying that it was regarding my account, I don't have an account with these people, I spoke with someone from the company and gave them some information on me so they could look in their files and see that I didn't have an account with them, they apologized for the trouble they caused and said they would make a note of everything and stop calling and then 30 minutes later I got another call and message saying the same exact thing that the first message had stated an hour earlier, they are really getting on my nerves because I DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM!!! *** DO I MAKE THEM STOP????

12/28/2009 got my first round of calls on my cell with this same number. like the rest of you I don't answer calls I don't know who's number it is. Then they called back with number "with held" and a***n I don't answer. I blocked both numbers and will continue to block all number that are unknown to me. Yes, this is GE Moneybank. I told them the other day when they called I could not pay the bill until I found a new job. The Indian woman who could hardly speak Engrish..(yes and I intentionally spelled it that way) took that information. Well they called back multiple times the day after, ****ing up, no message, then today they called my home phone and then five mins later my cell. How did they get my Cell number...Its private...That ****es me off.

When you do this it puts you on hold for a couple of minutes and then tells you that they will call back cuz they have no one to talk to you now. Sometimes it's just a dead line when you answer. This # is GE Moneybank collections dept. They call everyday, day and night, even on Sun. mornings. Most of the time silence, sometimes some idiot who can't speak English well enough to understand him or doesn't know what he's talking about. I tell them to go to***** and blocked the number. Now they call from same number but with area code 987 instead of 937. Blocked that # too, we'll see what happens. I already told them the Dept. of Trade and Consumer Protection told me not to pay it because I was the victim of fraud. Disputed charge with them 3 times, they keep sending more dispute forms. Talked to their fraud investigation dept. and the lady was rude and said I had the wrong dept. I said is this the fraud dept. and she said yes, but we don't handle that type of thing so I can't help you. I said a fraud dept. that doesn't handle fraud? She said yes!!!! Complete idiots. If they keep calling I will report them for phone harrassment.
