I got a text from 914-295-6450 about my double ovens I was trying to sell on Craigslist. I got su****ious when I saw (by Google Search) the area code was in New York City, and I'm in South Texas, and didn't think my "vintage" ovens would be so****ing worth shipping all the way out there. So, I played along, to see how a scammer works, and he asked for my email address I use for my Paypal account. I sent that to him, and I shortly thereafter got two emails from "PayPal" (though I knew they were from him), one stating there were new funds put in my Paypal account ($300 for my ovens, and $250 for his shipping agent and $50 for the Western Union fee for a $600 total), and the other one supposedly from a Paypal agent that told me to pay the shipping fee to his shipping agent in Indiana, or I wouldn't get my $300 released into my account. I hadn't asked for the shipping agent fee, or the Western Union thing, just $300 for my ovens. But I was supposed to pay the $250 for them to release my funds. Oldest trick in the book. I kept asking him questions by text, and he kept pushing me to pay the money so the mythical shipping agent would show up tomorrow. After wasting his time for a good long while, thus wasting my time, I finally pulled the plug on this s***bag scammer and sent him a final text revealing everything he did. Never got a reply. :)
