This number had called me over 10 times in a span of a half and a half. I picked it up once before and it was, as everyone here has posted - CIBC insurance. I declined the offer. The number continued to show up on my phone. I finally picked up this morning and it was someone selling insurance from CIBC a***n. I let him do his thing - blah blah I'm from CIBC insurance..." And I told him that I have already gotten this call before. He was very apologetic. I told him I would like to stop these calls so please put me on the do not call list. He said it can take up to 30 days for this to activate...? I'm wondering if anyone has called CIBC Visa to complain about this? If so, what happened?

I receive calls from this number 2-3 times a day, and anytime I answer, no one is there. This is one of those automated computer calling programs which calls simply to establish a pattern of when you might be home, which is why the many calls. Once it does, that's when you s**** receiving calls from actual telemarketers. I know CIBC used to be guilty of this, but when I called the number back, they identified themselves as an insurance corp. If you go through their menu options, supposedly you can add your number to their DNR list. I will see what happens in 30 days to see if I've been removed. I do not answer since I don't know the number. Their useless number to remove your number from their list does NOT work. The Do Not Call registry is another useless government body that needs to be shut down for their incompetency.
