I have to agree that the idiotic comments left here either praising ics or astonishing people seeking advice about the company must be in cohorts with them.  I have recorded the *****ic and inaccuratemessages left on my cell.  Having a website or filing incorporation papers is no guarantee of legitimacy.  They are simply persons that make their living attempting to collect on any paper they can purchase.  If I could post their ludicrous voicemail here I would.  My advise?  Never speak to them and never answer a blocked caller ID.  If it is an important call that you need to receive, you will get a message.

These people have been calling me about twice a day for the past six months saying the same thing over and over a***n. That I need to contact them because I am a suspect for check fraud. That I have 24 hours to call them back or they are filing a law suit a***nst me and taking me to court. 6 months later...no one has shown up to my work or house to serve me papers. My mother works for a major credit card company in the fraud dept. She says that small companies like ICS purchase these old debts for about 5 cents and then collect the money owed for themselves. I will continue to ignore these calls until I get served. Don't get dooped!!!!!!

"Logan" called me today. telling me that I had 24hrs to call him or the proper paperwork would be filed with the county clerk.. Last I knew the ICS law firm was listed on the scam list under the # 888-408-3144.I received several phone calls last fall from a Erica Sheridan.  The calls came even when I informed her that I was notifying my local police dept of her scam.  The calls lasted a few weeks then ended.

this people have been calling me to work.  today it was "Logan" investigator with ICS in conjunction with Hays County Sherriff's Department.  They are so full of it!  Don't give them any money, they are a third party collections firm trying to collect money on an old debt.

You undoubtedly work for this company because you are the only one out of ***dreds that say they are legimate, that is really strange. These people are attorneys true enough and the owner Jason Djakubec has had 2 felony convictions in New York state, so undoubtedly you didn't do your homework as well as you should. They are not listed with the BBB in New York and are shown all over the internet as frauds and scammers. So, anyone reading this PLEASE BEWARE !!!

Just a small town it looks like... but get this, guess what town is right next door? Newfane, NY... sound familiar? See the corporate filing above for Interstate.Ok so now we have the right guy... but what is this maple road address? I did a google maps/street view search of the address. Comes back to a ritzy looking house, that's right a house... a private residence. So off we go, who's house is this? S****ed to dig a little more. Second link on google at www.ypsort.com/main/ny/newfane/ shows a name and phone number for that address:Elia Richard A3047 Maple RdMaple newfane 14108716-751-9252Wait a minute... who is Richard Elia? Second page on google says he is the Executive VP of Sevenson Environmental Services in Niagara Falls. Well the location of his company makes sense, the location of his house definitely makes sense. But how and why is he tied to a collection agency. Time to dig deeper yet a***n!Remember that facebook search that came back on google?  Well for being such a big ****, he isn't big on privacy! Clear as day, right out there is all his info! His profile is wide open! Oh, and his profile does confirm all that information, plus it gives his cell phone number, personal email, and his birthday in case you want to wish him a happy one! Back to Elia though...I decided to check out his friends. He has 249, so s**** scrolling through the list! Page 3, first hit, jessica elia. Page 5 rachel elia. No richard elia though. Well I have facebook, let's search for elia's in wilson high school... nothing. But we definitely have Jason linked to the Elia family. So back to google we go.I'll s**** with some common sense. Jason is class of 2000 so let's focus on his class. Going back to google sear****g for wilson high school alumni, I come across a new site, mylife.com. Enter the name Richard Elia and Newfane and let it ride. Well, it happens to bring up other people related to the same address as Richard Elia along with his age (56). It shows a Karin and a Joseph H Elia. Time to s**** making****umptions. Richard Elia must be a ***her! Remember, Jason is in his mid 20's as facebook shared. So let's find out who this Joseph Elia is... maybe he is our guy. Same site, just c****e the first name to Joseph. Guess what, comes back to a 26 year old matched up with Richard. I can't get any more info without registering but I have a name.Joseph H Elia - let's google it. Not finding much on him, all i see is a Joseph Elia from Newfane winning some money at the Niagara Falls casino in a poker tournament. That would make sense, degenerates to tend to fall into collections. Well I'm at a loss nothing. Back to square one.So as a final result, I decided to search "northtown capital joe elia". You're not going to believe this one. 1st result on google, guess what I find: Elia, Joe, Northtown Capital &****ociates. Jakubec, Jason, Northtown Capital @****ociates - DBA Conference attendees. There it is clear as day! DBA - Debt Buyers****ociation. It is apparently a conference where these agencies go to buy and sell debt. A meet and greet of the s*** of the earth!So here are your owners! Jason Jakubec and Joe Elia... do some searches... actually, if you want to have fun, get Jason's cell phone number from his facebook page and s**** harassing him like he has been harassing us! Oh, and don't forget... file complaints with the Attorney General in both your state and in New York. New York's attorney general is not messing around anymore when it comes to collection agencies who break all the rules! I'll keep digging into this and update if I find out anymore information.

If the person calling speaks to the person they are trying to contact they do have to identify themselves, their company and the reason they are calling.  If they are leaving a voice mail message they are actually not allowed to mention the reason for their call.

the people that are defending this company all work for them. they are not lawyers. they are bottom feeding s*** debt collectors and nothing more. most of these things cannot be collected on. further, most internet "loans" are not permitted in some states and CANNOT be collected on. that's the ******ity of the loan company. further, this company is not licensed to collect in most states. bottom feeders. period. it's really laughable. what's more humorous are the threats and comments left that you will be put in jail. no. in the US debtor's prisons are out of fashion. they can try to get money by intimidation tactics but, most likely, they will not take you to court because you would then be able to present your evidence of their unlawful practices. so really, ics..? come take me to jail. i dare you.

I have been in the 3rd party collection industry for over 20 years and the tactic these people are using is highly illegal they refuse to tell what ICS stands for and it has to stand for so****ing.. they refuse to give out there address and they refuse to identify any attorneys whom may be****igned to file suit a***nst me which is all highly illegal per the fdcpa they have to identify who they are what their address is and what the state filed civil suit # is so I can look it up they could and would not provide that info so this is a ***** collection agency collection on garage debt and using ***** tactics... DONT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY

"ICS" called me as well -but it was like twice in a 30 day period. I had totally forgot about owing this check as i took my cash advancement in 2008 as well. My iden***y was stolen which caused the need   for me to close my checking account and open a new one. I'm actually glad they contacted me so i could clear up my check as I'm a responsible adult. The investigator was very professional and courteous, as well i wasn't talked to like a " piece of **** " As we all know and have been contacted by bill collectors in the past !  This company did provide the ness. do***entation and yes there are attorneys ! being in collections ****ED. i think the memo here is. one. state laws require that you can be reached at your work number. if you dont want to be called there... dont list the number when you take out a loan/ account. think smarter .... not harder =]]]]]]

my mother got a call from this place and said they needed to speak with me regarding a check fraud investigation - that i had 2 hours to call them back before they suspended my drivers license. Called and got recorded information.

Pretty sure you have to disclose that you're calling to collect a debt, though, correct?

My boyfriend received a call from this number, her name was Lisa Morgan, stating that she was from ICS law group and that she was informing him of allegations brought on a***nst him and that him or his lawyer needed to contact their offices... We called and ***ody answered... I dnt know if this is a phony collections call like the once stated above?

I received a call from a Denise Parker that stated that someone had gotten a hold of my social security number and committed fraud with it.  She was calling to discuss rectifying the issue and protect my credit. Turns out it was a completely bogus phone call and they wanted me to pay a bill (one that was paid two years ago).  I told her to call me back with a fax number that I could send proof of payment to and she continued to talk as I ***g up.  Unfortunately for her, she called my business line and I had no other choice but to report it, as it is considered harrassment and no one in our state is to call business lines to make collection calls.Beware of poor, phony business tactics used by this company.
