I called the number and it was routed to the NRA. The NRA did not pick up on this number though so I called the NRA in the Washington DC area to complain. They told me that they do NOT call like that and that they have received thousands of complaints due to this number. They even have a formal complain filed with the FCC but so far, nothing further. The number still calls out. I called the phone company and they said they could do nothing cause the number was part of a BANK of numbers sold. I think I got the royal run-around.

I got a call from this number. As soon as I said "Hello", I heard a click and then the phone ***g up. I suspect this is a way that someone is varifying a VALID phone number in my area. What they do when they verify is open to speculation: 1) sell valid numbers to telemarking firms, sell info to (male/felame answered) special interest groups, etc...
