Left a voice mail saying they were the Fraud Detection Center of the credit union that we use. They detected unusual activity on a debit card ending in a number that we don't have, so this was clearly a phishing call.

It WAS NOT a phishing call after all! We have two debit cards associated with that one account and one was truly the number that they referenced. Sorry!

So they identified themselves in a recorded message as the “Taxing Authority” saying because they cannot reach me by phone that I have to call this number or they will pursue collection activities at my employer…. They called from 716-431-5741
