Individual claimed to be an employee of AT&T and gave me a name, employee ID and callback number. However, if he really had been calling from AT&T, they would have shown up as the owner of the phone number, and it came up "unknown." He claimed that many in my area were leaving AT&T due to poor reception and/or felt their prices were too high. He asked if either was true for me and I said I thought their prices were too high. He claimed he could lower my bill by 40%, sent me a code via text, and wanted me to read that code back to him. The whole thing sounded hokey to me. I told him I was going to call AT&T to verify the information and he hung up on me. Normally, I don't answer the phone, but I was expecting a Door Dash delivery and thought the Dasher was calling me for help in finding my location, which happens frequently.
