I posted on marketplace 11/3/25 and received full offer for an item… looked at buyer profile and it was someone in Bogota Columbia. I questioned buyer’s location. This person sent me her son’s cell number saying he was local to my area, wanted the item, and would be able to pick it up. I texted this number…the person said they were “out for a weekend flight”, on a Tuesday, but has a cousin who could come pick item up. After a couple more texts about $$ and what account I use, then asking for my email address as his “business account needs to confirm the email address of intended Venmo recipient before he could send funds”, I realized this probably is a scam. I texted the number back saying “this is starting to sound a little phishy..no thanks”, and haven’t heard anything since. I then used this site to see whose number I’ve been texting… some woman in Indiana! I’m really surprised there aren’t more complaints against this number!

I live in PA. A text message was received from this number to buy my kayak. I checked the phone number and it is in Indiana. I doubt this is a legit inquiry.
