They're using CALLER ID S****ING to harass you or worse. The number, state, or any company name they use (which you see in your caller id) is faked using CALLER ID S****ING. Keep track of their calls - date, time, the fake info showing in your caller Id, and anything YOU can get them to say. Put them on speaker phone then tape/record them. Then finally call the police when you've got a good bit of information to****ist the police in uncovering their real number and real iden***y. What they are doing is very deliberate. They know very well what they're doing. They aim to collect as much info from various people answering your phone, before they make their move. Caller ID shows Utah call. They do not leave a message. Today was a very bad day for what appear to be telemarketing calls. We are on the Do Not Call list, but it certainly doesn't help. We get these kind of calls every day, and I mean 7 days a week.

They asked for me by name (first name and last name) and that phone number is that of a relative with a different first name, so it was not someone calling from a phone book or listing. It is a land line in Ogden, UT. It might be some employee checking out a new account or they might be one of their boiler rooms trying to sell you some Sun Trust offering or different type of an account. It is harmless, just annoying. Most of those type numbers are blocked from taking incoming calls.

I don't know how they are getting our numbers from Time Warner, but suspect someone is giving them out with names. FYI if they don't leave a voice mail or message for you, you know it is a lot of BS and never answer, and report it to your local service who will remove their service is they see it happening often. I have been getting this call on my cell phone and usually no one speaks up at the other end and I **** up. Today, I figured since it is costing me a minute of airtime on my cellphone, I'd just wait a bit longer and after nearly 20 seconds, a man finally came on and asked for me. This reflects a very inefficient call center system. After I identified myself, he told me he wanted to do a 2-minute survey of my satisfaction at a local SunTrust bank where I am a customer. I told him I didn't have that much time but that I was generally satisfied--at that point he ***g up on me.

I got the call as well. They use an automated dialer so there is a period of silence while the ma****e recognizes that the number was picked up until the time that it transfers you to an operator.
