Been in the telecom industry, I can tell you s****ing is illegal, you can always use other resources to follow thru. You may want to contact The US attorney general, the FCC as well as the FTC. Also if this is interstate you can actually contact the FBI. Based on the law, they cannot contact you at your place of business. They are only legally able to contact you at your home; you can also send a stop and desist letter via certified mail.Record their conversation, when you speak to them if you do, many of them have no clue of the law and make drastic mistake threatening people. They can't make any statements in which they can destroy your credit, call your family, call your work and or tell everybody that you have debts and you do not pay, this is protected by the law. In this case now you have the upper hand, as now they open the door for a lawsuit, you can actually sue the person that called you as well as the company as they are liable for any statement of guaranty that they make, almost any attorney will take this type of cases on contingency. Is an infringement of your rights and punish by law. This people use scare tactics to scare people and even collect many times the same debts that have been paid previously. If you speak to them ask them to send the do***ent in which it shows you owe any money in general they no longer have it so they cannot prove you owe any.The reality is nothing that they can do to you, if you do not or can't pay, they must take you to court and get a judgment a***nst you, and then they need to be able to collect. Of course they must serve you first and have proof of such. You want to get even, call then day in and day out, to their numbers use redial, and have anybody that you know do the same, do it day in and day out, that will shut down their PBX system, if they do it to you do it to them.Yes annoying, but effective if ***dreds of people do the same and saturate their phone lines.Let me give you info on some of the worse in the USA.You also can talk directly to the company that you owe money and make a settlement, in many cases for example let say you owe them 15,000.00 they will settle for much less, also make sure they do not report you to the IRS for the full amount if not you will be force to pay taxes on the portion unpaid, Make sure they clean your credit if not is no purpose of having a settlement, make sure you get all in writing first. Also ask them to send the do***ent in which it shows you owe any money in general they no longer have it so they cannot prove you owe any.RGS Financial http://www.rgsfinancial.com/P.O. Always keep the recording particularly if they are menacing and report does to your police local department as now you have a legal record.S**** Number used: 1310-953-3485Viking Collection Service, Inc.http://www.vikingservice.com/Minnesota7500 Office Ridge Circle, Suite 100Eden Prairie, MN 55344Arizona2075 West Pinnacle Peak Road, Suite 110P***nix, Arizona 85027 S**** number use caller Block. I followed up with FCI, it turns out www.SzaboServices.com is providing wrong information. . There are three FCI's: "France Contentieux International" (http://en.france-contentieux.com/), "First Collections Incorporated" (http://www.firstcollections.com/) and an FCI somewhere on the east coast. The FCI in France is an international debt collector with clients overseas and no apparant connections to the United States. http://en.france-contentieux.com/The FCI in Grand Forks North Dakota is a legitimate agency with no history of pretexting, or harassment. It seems you can call them anytime at 800-869-5166 and they handle mostly local accounts to them. http://www.firstcollections.com/However, there is also an FCI possibly in Maryland somewhere. There is no info on them, they do not give out their phone numbers, and they have no website. 800-871-1840 is a virtually untraceable phone # and has no web address****ociated to it. My office is trying to research and validate this phone number, because of multiple complaints. This phone number is offering award winnings, calling about overdue bills, providing credit card services, calling from a hospital, and the list goes on. This activity is illegal, but so far no information implicates that any person from any of the above FCI's is directly****ociated with this number. Likely it is scammers attempting to use a business name to obtain consumer confidential information. Please be careful when answering phone calls from any person who is trying to obtain account access, credit card information, or any confidential information. Banks, hospitals, collection agencies, and prize giveaways are required by federal and state laws to follow a specific set of protocols. It is advised that consumers being harassed by any of these pretexters know the local and federal regulations.
