No calls for about a week, but I've had dozens in the two months or so. No one ever says anything when I answer. They never leave a message. Complaining to the Do Not Call Registry didn't c****e the volume of calls. "Most Recent Victim" expressed so****ing that I've wondered about. How do we know they don't call and then check these sites for familiar names?

FAX back to 1-800-553-1077You prefix your call with *67 so that your caller-ID doesn't go through on the call. Put a couple of "," characters in the rest of the programming sequence (gives a four second delay for the *67 to take effect and for the phone to return a dial tone). Then program the rest of the sequence "1-800-553-1077" into your fax dialing string. Follow with a string of ",,3" characters so that your phone doesn't **** up. The reason for the ",,3" sequence is that their automated system WANTS "1" or "2" so ",,3" keeps it cycling in an error mode.... A much longer call !!! Tell your FAX ma****e do try sending the "FAX" until it is successful. If you do this around 10:00 p.m. and tell your FAX ma****e to abort trying when you get up for breakfast the next morning..... Well, after all, it is an "800" number and they surely would NOT have called you unless they really urgently wanted to hear from you so you might as well put it in writing (even if they're slow to respond to FAXes --- on their VOICE line !!). After a few thousand dollars of "800" number calls, maybe they'll put a FAX switch on their line.In summary:*67,,18005531077,,,3,,3,,3,,3,,3,,3,,3,,3or as long a programming sequence as your ma****e allows.Have fun getting through to them. :)

THIS NUMBER CALLS ME FREQUENTLY AND WHEN I ANSWER THEY **** UP. I TRIED CALLING THEM BACK, BUT THE ANSWERING SERVICE SAID THAT THE NUMBER HAD C****ED AND THEY GAVE ME A 10-10 ONE AND SAID THAT IT WOULD COST $5 FOR THE CALL. QUITE A SCAM GOING ON WITH THEM.

I picked up and the person asked for someone by name--someone who doesn't even exist as far as I know. But, he said if I was interested, to call a number (I didn't write it down). Then I used by caller ID and returned that call. The recording said you have just been called by blah, blah, blah insurance company and to press a number for... I ***g up. I hope that doesn't allow them to continue calling, as my number is registered on the "DO NOT CALL" list. Someone is always finging a way around the system. What an annoyance!

I just received the call from this number. I decided to answer it because I always tell the telemarketers (as nicely as I can since it's a horrible job) to please take me off their list (otherwise, they WILL keep calling). However, when I immediately came to my computer to look up the 800-553-1077 number, I s****ed reading all of these entries, and some on another site. THIS TIME THE WOMAN ADVISED SHE WAS CALLING ON BEHALF OF MY BANK. I don't know what that's all about, but a message to my bank is next on my list!!!

If you call the number back it says so****ing like "You just got a call from NATIONAL UNION FIRE INSURANCE COMPANY OF PITTSBURGH, PA with a special offer, if you wish to be called back a***n press 1, or if you wish to be put on the do not call list press 2." Obviously I pressed 2, then it instructs you to enter your phone number into their 'do not call' registry, what I find odd is that we are already on the national do not call registry, go figure.

Do not call list entries expire after five years. I know it doesn't seem like it, but we have been enjoying blissful silence for the last 5 years. If you get a call from 800-553-1077 you may have expired as we had. So go back to http://www.donotcall.gov and re-enter your numbers.If you call back the 553-1077 number it's really easy to get off their list - but why do it one telemarketer at a time?

Unfortunately, my home phone number is VERY similar to this 1-800-553-1077 number. So, those who are called, call me back and ask why I called them. I don't get calls from the telemarketer, I get calls from those that received called from the telemarketer. It is just as bad. Try explaining to 5 people a day that you didn't call them. Then they have trouble understanding who really called them.
