This number is trying to steal payments from Macy's customers. The person I talked with was Asian woman, very young. I was not past due so I knew this was wrong. But additionally it was an incoming call but showed up as a outgoing call to Macy's on my iPhone recent call list.

They called saying they were from Macys but they sounded shady. They kept asking me if i wanted to do my payment over them by the phone and I said i was going to the store. They insist in me paying by them. i said no and they kept asking if i was going to do my payment in cash or debit. strange.

I left previous message re repeatedly calling. Called a***n while I was on hold with another call so I unknowingly switched over; recording asked me to call Macy's at 800-511-3207. I just called; "David" answered identifying them as Macy's/Bloomingdale's. I told him I have no Macy's history, he looked up number, couldn't find account, apologized, and said calls wouid stop.

They had real information about my card activity and tried to get me to pay over the phone. It really sounded like Macy's, they even copied the Macy's menu options. However, the first thing they asked for was my routing number. Eventually I ***g up and called macys. They told me this number was a SCAM.
(800) 545-1256 - September 10th, 2021 3:22pm
They've called repeatedly, at least six times, in the last 10 days. I picked up first time; they said nothing. The rest of the time I either pick up receiver and immediately **** up, or let it go to ma****e, but they've never left a message. I don't have and never have had a Macy's account.
(800) 545-1256 - November 22nd, 2021 9:08pm
They asked for me to verbally confirm so that they can use my Macy’s information. I just ****ed up and searched up the number, turns out it was likely a scammer

They called me from an Ohio area code (513) and then "Joe Main" told me that he had an important business matter to discuss with me and to call the 800 number to do so. If its Macy's, then there's no reason that their customer service line can't directly call me and specifically say who they are.
(800) 545-1256 - June 25th, 2013 6:14pm
Macy's
(800) 545-1256 - August 11th, 2012 5:38pm
the 800 545 1256 and 727 556 5492 belong to HCL technologies which is a company contracted by Macys. i've been getting calls from the 727 for almost a week at least 4 times a day. i decided to call Macys customer service and asked them if they're aware of HCL and what the nature of relationship between Macys and HCL is. the answer was that the person I called (800 number from Macys website) was of HCL. I forgot to make a payment the lasy cycle and this company is trying to collect your payment over the phone. Although it seems they're legit, i have zero trust in Macy's and the way they share its acount holders information. Payoff and then cancel/close your account. that's what I'm doing.

The number showed as restricted, I called voice mail system that asked for my Macys account ( I think I had one 25 years ago) and got another person who said she could not transfer me as this was call center but ask for my account number, I told here that I did not have one and I thought I did had one maybe 25 years ago. I gave her my phone number and she said she checked and they did not have an account for me she then asked for my house phone # I gave that and she siad that she could not find the account and then asked for my SS number, I said that it must have been a wrong number and ***g up. These people are a total scam artist/con men, do not give information to them.

Please contact us at 800-694-1256 to REACTIVATE your CARD."I'm no *****, I don't have a card that ends in 4626. And no bank is going to send you a text message to have you call them.

Its 100% a scam. They went as far as having old "Hortense" here, an obvious employee of the company, google their own number so they could reassure you that its a legit company. They ask you for you Macy's account, then tell you, you have payments past due. Also they say that they cannot accept credit card payments, instead they need your bank account information. This is the biggest load of **** I've ever heard of and I can not see how anyone would be foolish enough to believe them. I just wonder how the***** they've been getting away with posing as Macy's (or Bloomingdales) and also how they are sidestepping the privacy and do not call laws.
(800) 545-1256 - December 17th, 2009 5:00am
The caller who "really needed to speak to me" didn't call my phone number but my ***her's (who, ironically, also has a Macy's account). That, coupled with the fact whomever did call me left no name or business reference was a tip-off to suspect either solicitation or worse, collections. To be honest, I did mail my bill a day late yet I'm moved to add a note of dissention over the economic disaster which, as has been noted in the previous comment, evidently turns a blind eye on companies that "sidestep" privacy and "do not call" laws, etc.
(800) 545-1256 - August 31st, 2009 4:00am
The call is legit. You're behind in your macy's or bloomingdale's accounts. No need to get upset. Everyone this day and age is having problems. Just admit your mistake, pay if you can or get a payment plan or***** file bankruptcy. But no company ever gives out personal information over the phone not only is it imm**** it's illegal. Read up on the Fair Debt Collections Practices of America or FDCPA for short, you'll be sure to learn a lot. Would you want your uncle knowing you are behind in your bills?
(800) 545-1256 - March 15th, 2009 4:00am
This is either a scam or a telemarketer who got your infofrom sloppy Macy's book-keeping.Generally a department store will identify themselves andsay what their call is pertaining too, as will the collectionagencies they deal with.I've gotten these calls, I go into Macy's and pay my billsthe day after they come. Others have gotten calls from these people at this or the 513 754=9822 number who have neithera Macys or Bloomingdale's card.Very unprofessional.
(800) 545-1256 - October 5th, 2009 4:00am
Hi HortenseGreat name! So you work for the phish scam too? How cool you post here to make it sound legit! I'm convinced. Call me a***n so I can give you my SSN. Or better, go back to grade school so you can get a better job.

Received a letter that looks as though it's from Macy's. The account number on the letter is different than our actual account number. Called Macy's from the number on out statement, not this number, and they verified they did not send the letter. This is a scam, letter or phone call.
