They claim to be from JCP, but they are not. Sometimes they claim to be from another company, too. Totally bogus. Call JCP and ask them. This is not them.

They don't like to leave messages, so I'm guessing it can't be too important. Verizon users, you can use a call blocking feature on your phone for up to 10 numbers. I've spoken with them and that is as high as they go, but they also can activate "anonymous call rejection" from their end that the rep informed me will block all calls from "unavailable" and jumbled numbers that show up on your receiver. Does not cost anything more, they just have to activate it on their end. Don't know how well it works on blocking some of these calls, but I'm hopeful.

actually received an email and I didn't know if it was a scam, so I looked up the number. Still not sure. How can one be certain that you are not being scammed for your account information?

NEVER give your info or "confirm" info on these calls. Too many business' have had their accounts hacked and you could be giving away your iden***y.I too am getting these calls but let it go to voice mail. My JCP account is up to date, so there's no reason for any calls.Don't trust anyone calling for your personal information. Keep a better eye on all your account statements. Get copies of your credit reports at least twice a year.File complaints with your phone company as well as the corporate office of JCP or w***ver you believe the calls are coming from.

If you pick up the phone when it is ringing, it will more than likely be a collection agency on the other end looking for any kind of info to connect you to an account or create one. If you see the number on your caller ID and call it, you will actually connect to the actual party that the number was****igned to.It's called phone s****ing. This is mostly done by collection agencies. They pretend to be someone else and getting enough info from you to create an account. Next thing you will get is a paper threat to pay so****ing in full or go to court. Some of us have been dealing with these bottom feeders for months and years. We have programs that track and trace these numbers and then match them to the time and dates with the phone company. None have matched the actual caller. They also s**** themselves as your neighbors. Advice: take your bill or some proof to the phone provider and have them trace. If you owe money or have ever in the past, you can bet places like these will be faking themselves as someone else to get the data they need. Make note that these collection agencies can get a lot of info on people by accessing credit reports. Type:"phone s****ing" in your browser or here's a site for a s****: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_s****ing . Everyone should be aware of these activities for their own protection. Also see: "predictive dialers" and "VOIP".Note: Known collection agencies that were tracked: Law Offices of Joe Pezzuto - Collect America, Cavalry Portfolio, Southwest Credit, Lowery Law Group-CACV and Portfolio Recovery Services.

I get 5 to 10 calls daily. The person they ask for is Isabel Cobel. Well Isabel does not live with me. The recorded message is coming from JC Penny's. The phone company is unable to help since it is a 800 number.

800-527-3369 shows on caller ID. Voicemail kicks in with press 5 or so****ing and then cuts out. Like others complaining on this site, I have no unpaid/past due accounts -- this number calls at least one a week when I am at work.

This number calls my husbands cell phonealmost everyday.
(800) 527-3369 - September 15th, 2008 5:00pm
If its important enough, then please leave a message, if not, then this caller needs to stop calling me every 15 minutes while I am at work and not able to answer cell calls. I do not have any late or past due bills out there, so it cant be any credit card calling. Why is this number a mystery that cannot be traced ?
