I was explaining to a rep that I recently lost my job & my husbands hours had been cut & that I planned on making a payment within the week & she s****ed asking me if I was on unemployment & when I said no she told me I should be & then told me that I need to get food stamps. Seriously, who tells someone that!

This was Chase calling to check on our auto loan payment, which is about a week late.

I just s****ed getting calls from this number. There are no messages just a busy signal on my voicemail. I dont have any loans or credit with Chase Bank. Obviously a wrong number, but i doubt that will make yhem stop calling.

They are also debt collector's for Wachovia - whom I think was bought out by Chase.

I made a payment with a direct withdrawl from my checking account on a Friday. The payment was three days late at that point and the calls had already begun. They continued through that Sa****ay and finally Sunday I answered one and told the woman on the phone that the payment had in fact been made and that the loan was current. She said that she could not verify this and that I needed to make a payment right then and there. So I said I don't think so and ***g up. About an hour later, another call and this time I decided to turn the tables on them. When the caller informed me that "this call is being recorded for quality****urance", I returned the favor by telling her that I was also recording the call as well to protect my rights as a consumer. She said that I cannot do that and told me to stop the recording. I told her that I would stop if she would and that oh yes, I CAN indeed record any conversation on my own phone as long as I notify the caller. I then proceeded to talk over her and state the date and amount of the payment that had been made along with the confirmation number of the payment. SHE ***g up on me but I never received another phone call. Bottom line is that you CAN record any conversation on your own phone as long as you notify the caller you are doing so and Chase does not want to risk getting caught breaking the collection laws that protect consumers so they will not talk to you any further. You may get another call from another rep, but just say the same thing.
