Collection agency for AT&T

No caller ID, left no message. SPAM in my book.

ATT credit agency. We were robbed so we had to cut the phone svc. Now they want us to pay for 3 months of landline svc after we cancelled.

I believe they are a collection agency. They left a voicemail on my ma****e for my business line today asking for someone I have never heard of and has different initials than me. They asked that I call them back if I was that person. They didn't say to call back if I was not that person. So I will not call. I am hoping though that I do not have to endure this for eternity, Obviously, complaining to the authorities does not work or there would not be complaints about these people going back to 2007 on this sight. The Do Not Call list is not intended to stop collection agencies from calling you, but it should. I can't imagine a situation where sending a bill would be less productive than calling random numbers hoping to get thee right person who they are looking for. They should be imprisoned for ******ity. If they do not have an address for the person they are looking for, chances are good that they will not be able to collect the debt. I cannot imagine a guy living out of his car going out of his way to send a check to someone because they called his cell phone to ask for money. The entire system is ridiculous. How low do you have to be to work for a company like this? They should be ashamed of themselves every time they show up for work and commence ruining strangers days for eight hours straight with no****ential of success in collecting. May the fleas of 1000 camels infest their arm pits.

First of all call at least for or 5 tames a day and when you to answer you can't understand a word they say so if your going to out source your jobs get some that can be understood

They called me yes****ay while I was waiting for school to s****, asking for my mom. They've been doing this a lot for the past two months, and I'm sick of it. They call me telling me they're MCM, with a Withheld number. This time they finally show the number. It's always some Indian guy I can barely understand. They FINALLY showed their number, but this time it was an Indian lady, I think she's probably the guy's wife helping with the phishing business. I put my number on the National Do Not Call List, but they still called. I told her this is not my mother, and to leave me alone and don't call me anymore, and the lady said, "Oh, okay," and ***g up. Hopefully they don't ever call me a***n. (=A=;)

The caller ID is s****ed. They want to talk with you when you answer so they can s**** phishing. No business has Toll Free as a caller ID!

This company calls me 6-7 times per day. Every day. MT***SS!!!!  Sometimes as late as 10pm!  If they are a collection agency, i have only one question??  Have they ever heard even of the basics of the FDCA???  These guys are not legit.

I just recently s****ed getting calls from this number on my mom's house number. I never put her phone number with any of my info so I don't know where they got it from. They ask for me in the recorded message. I called back and the girl asked for the phone number and told her what it was about 5 times before she finally said that she couldn't find it in the computer. I find that strange since they call almost everyday. Well it's been a few days since I called and they just called a***n this morning but didn't leave a message. This company is doing dome shady business if you ask me.

Rec'd a call from 800-***-2227 AT WORK. This is Bay Area Credit Service. I called back - they said I had a past due final AT&T bill. My bill wasn't due for 7 more days. Their corporate office is in Antioch CA. I got a mailing address from the caller's supervisor - supposedly their actual location: 1000 Abernathy Rd. Bldg. 400 Suite 165, Atlanta GA 30328.I then called AT&T - and was appoligized to because "AT&T jumped the gun, this should not have gone to collections." He made a note in my file and said this would not appear on my credit report. According to the AT&T rep. I spoke to AT&T sells "delinquent" accounts to Bay Area Credit Service for collections. SELLS THE ACCOUNT INFO. If you get calls from them I'd also call AT&T to complain about it, too.

They have been calling my cell number from past couple of weeks, never picked up and they don't leave any message. After reading all the posts looks like, it is some telemarketer...

These ****s give people a bad name. If I could only locate them, they would not call me a***n! BAY AREA CREDIT SERVICE!!!!! BS

I have this number calling my work, family members phone numbers which I have no idea how they get.  I want them to stop calling me.

The losers of this fradulent organization has called me almost everyday for over two months. Most of the time I ignore the call and never return any messages. The few times I have answered they have asked for someone not me and even though I have told them each and every time I am not the person they are looking for, they still call. The last time they called I told them I will find every way to report them if they are ****** enough to call me a***n. So who out there has gotten these bottom dwellers to stop calling?

This dregs keep calling me as well. After yelling at one and getting ***g up on after getting his name I called back and got a Indian in an outsource center. The point that there is no accountability with this company really makes me wish I lived closer to them to permanently shut them down. So anyone who lives out in California by this company, you will forever be a hero to millions of folks tired of this bu***hit if you just simply burn the f***ers out.

I had the same thing JUST happen.  I asked them repeatedly to confirm that they were calling on behalf of AT&T because I was in disbelief.  I handle my mon's bills since she is disabled.  Her bill is current!  As a matter of fact I pay her bill every month a day or two ahead of time.  I called AT&T to see what the deal was and they confirmed that the account was current.  ***!  I think they are fraudulently trying to steal people's money because of the harsh market.  And to call and harrass a disabled woman on a fake balance!?  What weazles

I get these calls on my business beeper with the message "This is an important call and is not a sales call or solicition" and leave their number. I never call back. Other sites indicate this number is to the Bay Area Credit Service, alleges dealing with ATT account. We are with ATT, but owe them nothing.

I'm on the no-call list, so they shouldn't be calling me anyway. People - DO NOT call them back! Your phone number will appear on their caller-ID, so they'll have that. There are many ways to get your ADDRESS if they have your phone number (yes - even a cell). Once they have your address, they can go to public records and get your name, which they won't have since these are computer-generated random calls. (there are many public records out there - tax and property, DMV, etc). They can get anything they want from that phone number, and eventually you'll end up as an iden***y theft victim! Some people say they have been asked for personal information or credit card numbers to pay an immediate debt - even if they don't have one - but DO NOT give any information. Ask the person's full name and the company they work for before even listening to any phone calls. These recordings are horrid scam calls - DO NOT call them back! ANY LEGITIMATE call will be made by a real person. NEVER give out information over the phone - not even your name - until you are sure of the caller and their intent.

State's "do not call list" doesn't do a **** thing without a company name and or a product or service item. Another waste of our money. I better shut up!

We've been getting this call probably every day for the past week or so. I finally tried calling back this afternoon (800-***-2227), and pressed 1 for English. No operator ever came on. It just finally timed out and disconnected.  I followed the suggestion of Heather, to file a complaint with the Federal Do Not Call List.  I recommend that others do as well.

I s****ed getting daily calls telling me to call 800-***-2227 about a week ago.  I haven't called back because if they won't pay a person to call me, it can't be that important.  What I have done though, is filed multiple complaints with the Federal Do Not Call List at www.donotcall.gov.  If your phone number is on the list (you can sign up on the website), you can send an online report for every time that the company calls you.  They won't do anything about a single report, but if they have tons of complaints about a particular number or company, they'll investigate and press charges.

I get these calls all the time too.  It's Bay Area Credit Services and do collections for AT&T.  Some people say they're legit but I dont believe it.  I refuse to call them back.

Same as what Mark Baldwin wrote.  They called at 8:36 PM no name/company was mentioned only "this is an important call, this is neither a sales call or solicitation call, plese return this call at..."; so when you return the call, a recording activates indicating if you wish to speak in english press 1 or spanish press 2; when you press 1, you hear a couple of rings and it then appears/sounds as if someone picks up, and then it disconnected with a very unpleasant tone that beeps loudly into your ear; that's all I have for the time being....

I think this is a scam to fish for live numbers. We don't owe anyone money, and would not be getting a sales call. My best advice is to ignore it. If you call back, you're letting them know you A) have a live number B) will respond, thus ensuring you'll get more of the same, IMHO

I received a call from 800-697-1234. Message stated that this is an important call and not a solicitation call. Advised me to call 1-800-***-2227 so i did, I pressed 1 for English and it disconnected me. I called the original number on my caller ID: 1-800-697-1234 got the same message except I did not press anything. The phone rang and someone answered, advised me that this was in reference to an old AT&T bill from 1999, I ended the call.

Received a message on my cell phone, called them back 5 times before I got a live person,,, gave them my cell phone number and they ask if I was Joaquin so****ing?? or so****ing like that,,, I told them no,, and they say they will take my number off and I will not receive any more calls from them.

Received several calls from them on my cell phone but I have never called it! I usually don't answer my phone if I don't recognize the phone number. Googled the number this morning and boy was I surprise! Not the only one getting this call.

I am getting these calls to my WORK number.  I cannot imagine who or why they would have gotten my number.  I shouldn't have called back, I had ignored five phone calls in the last week from them.  When I called back, the people ***g up on me both times.If someone knows how to stop this, please let me know.  Otherwise, I will ahve to just keep ignoring.

Calls are daily and the same thing happens if you call back as some others here have described. Very annoying, if it is a legitimate company they should state their name at least...

Caller left a message on my answering ma****e at 11:57 a.m. today stating "This is an important call. This is neither a sales call or solicitation call, please return this call at 800-***-2227".  I knew it wasn't a collection agency as I have no past due accounts.  Decided to check this number out on Google, and not surprisingly, see that I'm not the only one who has been called by this unknown caller.  ANY caller that does not identify themselves in one form or another, I FLAT OUT WILL NOT RETURN THEIR CALL. If it's so****ing REALLY IMPORTANT, a legitimate company would most likely leave their name and a contact person.

Got this call on my cell phone.  Almost called them back until I found this website.

Not sure who they are -- they won't tell me why they're calling.  First two times I asked who they are and they ***g up on me.  Finally got them to tell me they're calling about my Mother, who passed away.  They asked me to send them a ***** certificate.  I refused.  Definitely not a reputable organization.

They keep calling my cell phone, sounds like a collections company but I don't owe any money for sure.
