This is the fraud department at bank of America. I got a voicemail from them today, saying there was su****ious activity on a credit card account. I called the number on the back of my card, and they verified that yes, this is a legitimate BofA phone number. Its also listed on their website (but you have to look awhile to find it). if in doubt, always call the customer service number on the back of the card.... then you know for sure you are speaking to the right people and its not a fraud / phishing scam

My mother received a message on her answering ma****e on Friday, September 25th from someone named Alex who said he was with the United Bank of CA, but gave 1-800-427-2449 as the number to call. When my mother called the number back, she spoke to a person who claimed they were questioning some possible fraudulent charges on my grand***her's Platinum VISA. They had his name, but called my mother as she controls his finances. Several bills in my grand***her's name go to my mother so she was thinking it was a legitimate call. Except for the fact that my grand***her doesn't have an account with that bank. The caller then asked for my mother's social security number which of course she did not give out. They also asked for the full credit card number.
