SCAM ALERT!!!! I have repeatedly gotten calls from this number saying they needed my address to verify so****ing on my auto loan. I ***g up, called B of A from a number printed on the back of my debit card, and they confirmed they had no reason to reach out to me about my auto loan. As real as it may seem, it is an absolute SCAM.

The phone number: 1(800)386-4017 is abo****ely a valid number, however the number will come up as unknown or blinked on your caller ID. I worked w bank of america for nearly two years and can****ure you the number is legit. The only reason one would get a call from this dept is a delinquent auto loan. An auto can be for a car, truck, motorcycle, rv, trailer, or even airplane. Often people don't understand that the bank will buy loans in bulk at a discount and the orginal lender will no longer service the account. Bank of america does this often and regularly without the debtors knowledge. Then one day you become past due on your account and someone like myself will be calling from bank of america attempting to collect on your account. The requirement of the collections dept to verify your SS#, full name and address are manditory as per the rules and regulations of the dept. Just speak w the person on the other end and let them know the truth, if you simply forgot then tell them and make your payment. If you can't pay then there may be****istance available to you due to your financial hardship. Thanks for reading this. By the way I was fired from bank of America is december of 2009: so F*** bank of america!! I now bank w a local credit union and recieve much greater benefits there. :)

It was a legitimate call from B of A Auto collections. But I was skeptical when they asked for my SS number...so I called number on my loan account and found out they were having a problem with payments made over the internet. Got it resolved.

I work for bank of america and the # of 800-386-4017 is the collections department for Auto Loans. Of course delinquent customers would think this is a scam only because your in denial about being past due and never want to deal with the collections department but of course when you wake up one morning and realize your car is gone because you havnt made payments in 2 months then you give us a call and cuss us out because this is the "first" time weve contacted you, well maybe if you called back the # we leave on answering ma****es, caller ID or in a text message then maybe you could have made some arrangements to keep your car. So instead of thinking this # is related to a scam, stop and think about the car you drive everyday and if you know you havnt made payments then you know we will be calling. The only thing that is a scam here is the fact that irresponsible customers buy cars they know they cant afford and ruin their credit then blame BofA in the end because we call from an unknown #. Simple solution = Pay your bills like you agreed to when you signed a legally binding contract!

I called BOA and they said that they did NOT need to contact me, NOR did they recognize that as a BOA number. Do not call this number.
