Guys, if you get a call from this number and you havent applied for a Discover card, call it back. I just applied for one yes****ay and got this call so I googled it before calling back and it is Discover trying to confirm that you indeed inquired about an account so if you get this call and you havent applied for a card, somebody is using your iden***y and you need to look into it ASAP

I applied for a card and received a call from this number. It is legitimate, however if you did not apply for a card I would advise calling back and cancelling any application they may have for you. I was not asked for any information aside from my name to verify my iden***y, not sure why other people report having their full SS# requested.

I'd agree - if you're getting a call and you haven't applied, you should answer or call them back, because they called me after I applied to verify that I had indeed applied, and to ensure that someone else wasn't trying to open a card in my name.

I applied for a Discover card on Sunday (2 days ago) and they told me he need to review for my application and call me back. Today they call me back (from this number) and asked for additional questions like previous address and the purpose for the application, but they never asked SSN. After I told them the info, they told me my card is approved. I think it's legit since they know my info (even my previous address which I forget to tell them).

We have received several calls from this number over the last two weeks, twice on one of the days. Today was the first time that a message was left. A woman said she was calling from Discover Card about some correspondence that we had sent them and that it was important for us to call back within 24 hours. We do not have a Discover Card and have never sent them any correspondence. She left another number for us to return her call: 800-951-0514.

I answered one of their many calls instead of letting it go to the ma****e. I spoke to a live person (instead of the robo-messages) who claimed to be from Discover Card. They have been asking for my wife with whom they had a recent "correspondence" (possibly stemming from a card application). They gave a return number of 888-347-3205 since she was unavailable at the time. When she had a chance to return the call, the first thing they requested after her name was her FULL SS#, not the last 4 digits. They also could not match her with the same phone number they would call as much as 3-5 times a day. If they continue to call after today (a request we both made) then we will file a complaint.
