This company" Credit Collections of America" (CCA) called me telling me about my husband having a bad check and that they worked forTe****eck in collecting old debt. They told me this debt was from 2008. Be very weary about companies that call out of the blue and don't even have your current address. Never pay anyone anything over the phone or by mail a cashier's check or money order unless you know who you are dealing with. Just food for thought!!

A woman called from CCA regarding 2 checks I supposedly wrote in 2008. I told her I would only talk to my bank about checking account issues and ***g up. She then called back and mentioned so****ing about filing an affidavit and taking legal action and referenced an address at which I have never lived. She said I did not need to "**** up in her face," so I apologized and referenced the need to protect oneself from scams. She said they were not running a scam and that they have been in business for 17 years. At which point I wished her "good luck" and ***g up a***n.

They called and claimed exactly this: "Concerning an urgent matter about your checking account, this is a very serious matter". They said they needed a call back by 4pm CST in order to deal with it. They even referenced a case file number, but nothing else. When someone says "checking account" and nothing else, including an individual, company name or business name where someone might have tried to write a check in my name, I get su****ious. Still, this call has me worried.
