The call center Law violating scammer just violated the Do Not Call Law a***n by s****ing this Chicago disconnected number to avoid being identified like a robber who wears a mask .

CallerID said "REWARD CLAIMS" but it was an **ILLEGAL** Pre-recorded msg from an **ILLEGAL S****ED #** for yet ANOTHER of the "Lower Your Electric Bill" SCAM calls. Most of these calls have been 'from within' MA or New England (if one is to believe the S****ED phone numbers.) I STRONGLY SUSPECT that AMERICAN CORPORATIONS are behind these calls. The BULK of these calls come in on our LONG-held Home Land Line - the one # tied to ALL our accounts. *TIME WARNER CABLE* has been running ads constantly for "Home Solar Panels" and "Lowering Your Electric Rates." There are always Toll Free #s to call, BUT WE HAVE **NOT** CALLED ANY of them. Still, we've gotten SIXTY-ONE (61) calls for both of these SCAMS. You CANNOT 'buy' solar panels over the phone and these "lowered electric rates" are all SCAMS; one ends up paying FAR MORE in the end than if you stick with a REGULATED UTILITY. So, HOW is it we keep getting these calls? I STRONGLY BELIEVE that when TWC accepts these ads its with a SECONDARY contract with these S***BAG ADVERTISERS that THEY GET ALL THE SUBSCRIBERS Names and Phone Numbers. THEN these S***BAG COMPANIES contract with INDIA CALL CENTERS to CALL AND HARASS us. Virtually ALL the tactics these INDIA CALL CENTERS use are ILLEGAL: ROBODIALERS, PRE-RECORDED MESSAGES, S****ED Names and NUMBERS, and Call times OUTSIDE of the allowed DNC Law (BEFORE 8AM and AFTER 9PM local times.) Since these call centers are OVERSEAS they are 'exempt' from the DNC list laws - or at least they are UNENFORCEABLE. TRACE these tactics BACK TO THE SOURCE and you will find AMERICAN **AM****/UNETHICAL** ANTI-SOCIAL COMPANIES - LIKE **TIME WARNER CABLE** - Behind this whole debacle. If THE **FILTHY** RICH S***BAG CORPORATE EXECUTIVES of this country can keep the majority of the populous 'distracted' by things like this, then we won't notice our they are FINANCIALLY ****** this country to its RUIN. Because it was from a mobile phone I did not consider this to be a solicitor. However, when I called back I got a recording that offered for me to be on a do not call list if I pressed ‘one.’ I pressed ‘one.’ Using a mobile phone to make solicitations is a new low. Here's a copy/paste of a comment that works and worth passing it on; there is a do not call service for a small number of companies that call consumers. You could either send an email to them at [email protected] or call them at 866-246-7196. Indicate the caller's phone number so they can verify if it's on their list and your receiving phone number so they can add it to the do not call request list. They promptly sent me an email reply and a couple of days later the calls stopped!
