By the way, a GREAT way to get them to stop is to pick the name of a large city PD near you,,practice several times and when you get one of those calls - if it gets past your blocker or Do Not Call Registry - answer, fast and with authority: "[Pick a PD name] Police Emergency 911 ... please state the nature of your emergency." No one has EVER gone any further that that other to try and call back a few minutes later. When I answer the same way, they don't call back a third time!

DEFINITE scammer. They wouldn't answer when I called back. I've been harassed by another scammer - or rather my elderly mother has - and I've had to get my local PD involved, and I've reported them to the FBI's scam. When I hit the number either a live operator or a do not call, it does no good. I have received several calls from this same robo-spammer since requesting no calls; when I got a live operator today and asked to be permanently removed from their list, she ***g up on me. May these ****s rot in***** - preferably a***** where they are hassled by robo-call every few minutes! (Preferable a call which asks them, "Would you like the fire turned up a bit?" with no "no" option!)

As of 15 February 2012, any and all calls like this are illegal on their face. The only way these jokers can legitimately call you, if they even had a legitimate reason, is if you inform them IN WRITING stating they can call you, meaning you have to opt in. Also make sure you have a good bluetooth firewal protecting your phone, as well as a good overall firewall and virus/malware surveillance. Protect yourself or you will soon find yourself parted from your hard earned money.

Called my 82 year old ***her who thought he was speaking to a nice man (w/accent) from the bank who was going to lower his interest rate on his credit card. He gave him the credit card number after the nice man called him back 3 times .... when my ***her realized what had happened he told me he had made a big mistake. I called the credit card company to make sure the card was cancelled. They call to see if they can prey on someone. BEWARE!!!!!!!! I blocked my number to call to see who they were and they would not let the call go through since my call was blocked but, the call to my ***her was UNKNOWN.

Received a "robo" call regarding my credit card and****urance that my card is ok, and that I am eligible for a low 4% interest rate, just press 1 to speak to a live operator, Now, I am in the process of filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy, so to have fun I pressed 1, and spoke to an operator, this is how our conversation went: Them -Thank you for calling regarding your credit, how may I help you? I have been getting calls from this number and "unknown name,unknown caller" for several days. They call fifty or sixty times a day. All through the night.
