Said my number was be suspended due to criminal activity and provided me with the number 650-434-8620 to call to speak with somebody about. I called the number and a man answered with an accent (sounded Indian to me) saying "This is the Social Security Administration." I then ***g up, deciding that it was some kind of scam, without speaking to the person.

I received a call from this number. It was a recorded message saying my SS is now blocked and I need to call them back at this number. It sounded fishy to me. I was trying to determine if this was a real federal number of SS. Guess my next step is to try to call the SS office.

Stay away. Dont give any info, nor verification. There bouncing the tower fro over seas, to California. If the Social Security contacts you, it's only through a certified letter, with a call back number. Be aware, and share your personal information.
