Called the number back and listened to recording stating they were a "Market Research Firm" and not a telemarketing firm and therefore not bound by the state or national do not call list. Told to call (800)864-8601 to place your number on the company's internal do not call list.

one of those validating numbers robo call. Just goes out calling numbers to verify they are in fact valid numbers so they can then either sell the number or pass on to their spamming dept. to underhandedly fraud someone out of their hard earned money.

This number called on a Sunday, which seems atypical from most legitimate businesses. I couldn't trace the number to any credible companies. If I were you, I wouldn't give out any personal information or "buy" whatever they're "selling".
