This is a highly sophisticated scam. An apartment for rent on Craigslist led me to an email back and forth with the owner of this number. They posed as a person with ties to a Catholic organization that helps poor people in need. After accepting my rental application for an apartment in California, they asked me to send them $875 + $875 for the first month and security deposit via Venmo with this number. To make things more interesting, this person called me before I caught on to the scam, with this same number. My Google assistant recorded the call, but did not get any voice recorded, as the said "hi (my name)", and hung up before the Google assistant had finished the opening sentence.
