I think what they are doing is using some sort of auto dialer. This will generarte random numbers following an area code. The person running this would enter an area code (403) for instance and then the software would generate numbers at random and call them. Providing you answer the phone call, the persons involved now know it's active and a legit phone number and will keep calling it till you **** up on them or actually speak to that girl who you get transfered too. This kind of activity is called Phishing and is a form of Iden***y Theft. This activity is, of course, illegal in Ca***a and the USA however there are different law's governing this depending on where your are located geographically in your respective country/s.You would think that the Telus', Sprint's, Rogers, etc would have so****ing in place to stop this kind of activity but they do not.I called Telus last night and spoke to management about this kind of activity. They told me that I HAD to c****e my phone number (there is no other choice) to avoid this but that there is not 100% that the calls will stop. He informed me that they cannot stop or block a phone number from hitting their network and that this will probably get worse before it gets better.... Not what I wanted to hear from one of Western Ca***as leading service providers...If you have received this call and want to try to stop it, please visit the following link. It is a Ca***ian Link but has some useful info for the people in the USA. Its related to ID Theft but has a lot of relative info that you can use and apply to this situation. http://www.publicsafety.gc.ca/prg/le/bs/phish-en.asp ALSO - SPREAD THE WORD! PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING SO THEY WILL NOT BE AFFECTED! PUT TOGETHER EMAILS TO YOUR FAMILY/FRIENDS/LOVED ONES ETC. LETS GET THE WORD OUT!!!!!

Do this so you can make this scam phone calls stop!Reminder: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public today. All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies tomorrow and you will s**** to receive sale calls. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS. To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number. HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.. It takes about 20 seconds or you can go to www.donotcall.govIt's reliable. I did call my phone company and they also told me to do the donotcall.gov thing. I'm not sure how long will it be for the website registration since the phone one says it's up to 5 years, but it's well worth it to do this! ***ody needs this scam, useless phone calls that I believe it's chargeable if the phone call is answered!

Like Ryan I received this call on my telus business cell. I pressed 1 to go to a real person as my Toyota warrantee just ran out. This was not Toyota or any real company. A female answered and asked for my personal info to verify my iden***y. I asked her who she worked for? She said the warrantee company. Which warrantee company? A: The one for your vehicle. What kind of vehicle do I own? A: I do not have that information as it is locked in our "secure database". I could also hear lots of noise in the back ground of general office work and chatter. THIS IS A SCAM!! These people will offer you a warrantee no doubt at a great price. Dont fall into this type of scam. Also it does'nt matter who your phone is with they are using an auto dialer that is calling every phone number in Alberta!!There are many of these scams on the go and are either in Quebec or some African country!!!

So, i got a phone call on my business cell. This is strictly a business cell and do not use it for personal use, unless with my wife or close family members. I found it strange that the automated voice said that this was the second time they have called regarding my vehicle warranty nearing its exiry date. I dont own a vehicle that has any manufacturers warranty. Needless to say I ***g up. I am also receiving this call on my home number in Calgary which I do not have in the phone book and is not published anywhere. My wife has also received this exact same call on her Cell Phone. Both of our personal cells are through Telus Mobility. My business cell is alos through Telus but on a business plan of course. Our home phone is IP telephony via Shaw cable out of Calgary as well.

I received a call from this number, 1-******2-3386 on December 31st. On all days! I didn't answer since I don't know that number, but I've searched online for the number and it says it's an Oklahoma number and brought me to their address, name, and zip code as previous comments above me say. I'm in disbelief at how people are scaming other people all over the world and obtain our numbers from God knows where! I'm going to call my phone company about this and hopefully they'll do so****ing about this. I am glad though that there's a website and not only one, but many websites about this scam numbers!

Automated message telling me my auto warranty is about to expire. Press "1" to talk to representative, press "2" to be removed from call list. I ***g up. Like inCa***a, I'm also from Toronto. Like inca***a, they called my cell phone number which I only give to friends and family. One of my goofy friends recently gave this number to a Gym so he could get a free bag for the referral. Maybe that's how they found me or they are just going through all the Toronto cell numbers

Called to tell me this was my last warning about my car warrantee was about to expire which I know it was not. I ask them a few question about who they were but they became defensive and ***g-up. They are obviously fishing for vulnerable people who they can milk cash from. I have to believe telling people their car warrantee is about to expire is misrepresentation and illegal.

so this is the third time a strange number like that has called my cellphone... which is odd because i live in toronto, ca***a (?!) they left a message this time about my car warranty, as Fraud Buster indicated. i have no idea where they could have gotten my number from, but considering the amount of complaints about this scam, has anyone taken action to prevent it from happening?

Auto message indicating my car warranty expired - this call is a total scam. Not sure where they got my number - perhaps it was when a cab driver (in Minneapolis)made me give him my phone number when paying by credit card (****** in retrospect). Maybe he is using it / selling it. Did anyone else notice this pattern?
