I've been getting calls like this for quite some time. they are robot dialers and I suggest not wasting your time or effort in attempting to add your phn# to a do not call registry, because these calls come from automatic dialers they aren't worry about what "list" you may or not be on. It's just mental angui*** I find that most of these calls seem to be a probe to when you might answer, so my suggestion is just to not answer any out of town calls you do not know - period. If you miss a call from someone you do know, they will leave a message. I also c****ed all phn#s****ociated with all my only accounts to 000-000-0000 and that has also helped. Your info is out there in the world and now it's being utilized...

Yes, I got a call from 518-444-2217 on 4/22/14 at 10:01 a.m. stating that they would issue me a $100.00 gift card. All I had to give them was my debit card or credit card #. They said they were BBB monitored and were a legitimate company named IPROX Rewards Program.. They also gave me their I.D. # as 86001. They argued with me that this was a legitimate call. I did not give them my credit/debit card # and gave their # to the local Walmart supervisor here in town. I told them I wanted my phone number removed from their calling list.

Got a call saying I had one a $100 Wal Mart gift certificate. After asking for my name and address they said so****ing about sending an information packet about some service, and that I had to pay $2.95 via credit card for shipping. I said no thank you and they persisted saying I could cancel "membership" at any time after receiving the packet if it didn't fit my needs, via a toll free number. I told them I'd rather not and to remove my number from their calling list. Lady was still talking as I ***g up.

Got a robocall offering me the free $100 Wal Mart gift card, and asked that I talk to a representative and join a program that will give me discounts and all I have to do is pay monthly. For MY convenience (no, for their profit) they will automatically renew my payment monthly. Such a deal! How can I resist? I ***g up before the recorded message continued. They are hoping you will forget to cancel and they will get these payments and probably others for a very long time.

If you have an iPhone -- set it to Do Not Disturb. This will put all calls from phn#s not recognized by your phn (not saved as contacts) directly to your voicemail. This seems to help diminish unwanted calls (over a few weeks time...)
