Here's the answer to all our prayers. Telemarketers almost exclusively use "autodialers" to make their calls. One out of a thousand will have live reps doing the dialing. When these dialers connect (you answer the phone) they listen for any "tones" generated. If no "tones" are detected they then transfer the call to one of the reps in a call center. "IF" the autodialer hears the 3 beeps from dialing a "DISCONNECTED" number, the number that was just dialed is automatically "REMOVED" from their list. Below is a link that has this "tone" plus the verbal message. You DO NOT need the verbal message. Download or copy the "DISCONNECTED" MP3 or WAV file to your desktop. Create or c****e the greeting you have when someone calls you and you're not available. At the VERY BEGINNING of your message place the 3 tones (NOT THE VOICE MESSAGE) then continue with your usual or normal greeting. The autodialer will hear the tones and BINGO, your number will be removed since they think it's a disconnected number. DONE. In a few weeks you will be removed from all the lists. Of course you may have to explain the tones to the callers you DO want to speak to but that's a small tradeoff. Pass this info on to anyone you know that gets junk calls or even help post this on these websites. If you continue getting calls after reading this, it's your "OWN" fault! END JUNK CALLS. http://www.payphone-directory.org/sounds.html

I received daily calls from this spammer for the past month, despite being registered to the governments DNC list and pressing 9 to "opt out". I finally decided to press 1 and leave a message. I recieved a call a few hours later form a Rick Stevens - Secure Health Corp (954)-644-5101 responding to my "inquiry" for health insurance. I quickly corrected him that I was actually an attorney trying to****ociate a name to this spammer, he immediately ***g up. I am filing a complaint with the FCC. Moreover, as I called back to let him know, I will be filing a law suit in my state court pursuant their violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (47 USC 227) if they call my number one more time. Hope this helps.

Just dont answer. I never answer unidentified calls or calls that come thru that are not in my list of contacts. That is one of the nice things about voicemail, people. Take control. If they must talk to you they will leave a message. But most of these numbers, if they do not get hold of you they will remove you from the list so as to get hold of a "live" one. For those of you who just HAVE to answer a ringing phone for some reason, just dont say anything until they do. Most of the spammers wont speak first, they wait for you to say*****o. Ive never gotten a call back from any of these numbers if it goes to voicemail or you just dont speak.

And got another phone call from an out-of-state number that I didn't "know" or recognize. I didn't answer, but looked up the number here. They left no message. I am on the National Do-Not-Call List, and have been for over a year now. (I guess this is our government at work for us.) Once a***n, I'm going to http://www.fcc.gov/complaints AND to https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx and see if that can get the government to work for me, and stop these calls. (Yes I will go through all those steps once a***n.) We should all pile on. [I have also bookmarked these URL's.]

503-563-0005 called my cell phone. When i answered it was a recorded message with a woman's voice asking me if I wanted cheaper health care coverage. She said to press one now if you want to take advantage of this offer. I did, hoping to get to a representative to ask them to remove me from their list. It did not. Rather, the same voice then asked me to leave a message with my personal information for an 'insurance agent' to call me back. I did not and ***g up. I filed a complaint with the National DNC Registry.

Recorded message offering to lower the interest rate on my credit card, warning I had very little time left to take advantage of their offer. I was to press 1 to speak to a rep and 3 to opt out. I have attempted to opt out in the past so I pressed 1 to speak to someone. I ask why they are calling if I am on the DO NOT CALL list and they ***g up. I attempted to call back and got a busy signal. I believe they are clearly in violation of the law.

Recorded message offering to lower the interest rate on my credit card, But they never say what credit card. They say there is very little time left for this deal. My caller ID just says Card Services. Since I am lucky enough not to have any balances on any credit cards these calls are insane and illegal, I am on the DO NOT CALL list. They call at least once a week if not more. Its been going on for months.

No message. Calls about one every two weeks. My phone is on no call for all the good it does. I thinkl when I reported them to no call, is when the calls became more frequent. They knew they had a live number. I'm going to try a suggestion a friend gave me. The next time they call activate the phone and lay it down and walk away. They are paying for the call.

The one time I answered they said they were a home security company who partners with sirius radio. I told the rather pushy salesperson I was not interested yet they continue to call regularly... I just stopped answering. It has done zero good to rell them I am on the do not call list so I figure they are at least wasting their robo call bandwith by my letting it ring.

Kept calling constantly! They DON'T LEAVE MESSAGES, of course. I answered finally, they said so****ing about being chosen for a home security system in my area. I said I already had home security, but that didn't stop him. I told him to take my number off his list and haven't gotten a call since. I think they call to try to get info about your home, who's living there etc. etc.

Left recorded message offering to lower the interest rate on my card, for which they didn't identify the bank, to the interest rate I already have, warning I had very little time left to take advantage of their offer (I hope that means they won't be calling anymore soon ;). I was to press 1 to speak to a rep and 3 to opt out.
