I ecstatically told him how happy and grateful I was that he called because I was feeling quite lonely that day. I then proceeded to give him a detailed account of my daily activities beginning at 8 am. guess he wasn't up for chatting because the next thing I heard with the dial tone LOL the good news is they haven't called since.;-)

The old smoke detector scam, since they are calling from out of the country, he skates on social security, they are not going to be extradited for breaking the law on no-call list. They ask if you have a smoke detector, then they conduct a "survey", then tell you you won a security system. Only catch is the monthly monitoring charge. Local companies will install for free for a contract, too.

They called to ask about smoke detector batteries, fire extinguishers, etc...claiming to be conducting a local fire safety survey. Guess what - I am a Chief Officer in the local Fire Dept and we are not sponsoring this survey (who would?!?!). If you see "TSS Solutions" or "PICK UP PHONE" on caller ID just let it go. As soon as I questioned their program he ***g up.

I found a call blocker a few months ago at http://www.BlockTelemarketers.net that works really well... with the push of a ****on it permanently blocks any more calls from unwanted phone numbers.
