Long-term telemarketer that so far has avoided prosecution. Victims need to file a complaint with the FCC, FTC, and ESPECIALLY their state Attorney General. Give them the following information (copied from www.800notes.com The phone rang (503-457-1274) and sure enough, our old friend Tom was ready to give me a free GE Home Security System for placing a sign in my yard. I played along and within a few minutes I got a call back from VMS ALARMS (Versatile Marketing Solutions Inc. MA Corp), Caller ID 469-***-4125 (a Dallas area code), but missed the call and they didn’t leave a message. I called back both numbers, attempting to *67 Call Block, and the 503 number answered that they were unable to take calls with call block enabled. I could call back without call block and access their do not call request list. When I called the second time without *67, they still failed to identify themselves saying that the calls were “from, or on behalf of a commercial seller”. I could press “1″ to be placed on their do-not-call list. UNACCEPTABLE. The calls to the 469 area code were answered by a VMS Alarms voice tree: 3 for customers, 4 for Sales, 5 for Employment. I pressed 4 for sales and got a voice mail box for “Melody Victorian”. I can verify personally that prerecorded, computer based calls from “Tom with Home Protection” are being used to generate sales leads for Monitronics largest dealer, VMS Alarms. This is the third series of calls from VMS (Monitronics east coast dealer in RI), with prior calls from ****mum Security Alarms (west coast dealer in CA). Calls to Monitronics staff responsible for dealer supervision were met with only an offer to place any phone numbers I desire on their corporate DNC list which would be provided to the dealer in question. After I informed them that this was not acceptable, that I required the name of the alleged third party making the calls, they refused. Follow up calls to Monitronics parent, publicly traded Ascent Capital Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASCMA) got me a quick call back from an Attorney in Dallas claiming to be outside counsel for Monitronics. I didn’t realize that Ascent was part of John Malone’s Libert Media Group at one point, a minor mistake on my part. In hindsight the attorney call was an obvious move to slow me down, scare me off. Like minded readers who are as outraged and irritated as I, should take pictures of their Caller ID Screens, and make notes about the call such as: I answered (555-555-1234) and it was “Tom”. That led to a call back from (555-555-1111) XYZ DEALER and I’m in the State of Texas. In the states where licensing is required and there is a regulatory scheme, like TX, CA, and FL, major markets for any business by the way, we will seek to revoke, or block renewal of the Dealer’s Alarm license. To do this we will need the data I outlined above, provided by residents of the specific state. In attempting to file complaints in UT and FL, I was blocked as I am not a resident, and thus those particular states would not even accept a complaint report. The Utah regulator actually said I could file a complaint, but it would be dismissed without even looking at it. Reason? Not a resident of UT. Received a call asking if I would be wiling to put a sign in my yard in return he would install a free security system. I told him we already had one and ***g up. Not sure whether or not this is related but within 5 minutes a truck drove into our driveway, we live in rural area dead end road, dog scared them away they left in a hurry, within a couple of minutes received another call my husband answered he ask the same question, he told him we already had a security system he then proceeded to ask detailed questions about our security system when my husband wouldn't answer them the ***g up. Tried to find a number for this company in oregan and could not. This is a mobile phone. I just know one thing if this is someone trying to breech our security system they need only know we are locked and loaded and when the security system responds they need only send someone with a body bag.

He says he's from Home Protection Services and would like to know if I am interested in a free home security system, under the condition that you place a sign in your yard and that if I am interested a specialist would call back. He also wanted to know if I owned my own home. I kept avoiding him and raised my voice wanting to know why he keeps calling without having the decency to leave a message. That it was none of his business if I own or rent. He finally ***g up. I then filled a complaint with the Attorney General in PA. because I am on the DO NOT CALL Registry. ps. want to thank everyone that commented on this phone number. helped me a great deal in filling out the complaint form.

I have recevied MULTIPLE calls from this number and numbers similar to it s****ing w/ the same area code. They have been calling me 7-9 times a day. I have called back, and pressed "option 1 to cancel future calls" and yet they still call back. I talked to a man once and yelled at him for harrassing me, when I threatened to turn them in for calling a number on the "do not call list" he ***g up on me. Only to be called back 20 minutes later by another representative. Yes****ay I talked to a "Tom" who called and I was polite and told him I was annoyed w/ his company calling me so many times a in day. He told me he'd remove my number immediately. However 20 mins later I got another call from them. It's almost time for them to s**** calling yet a***n today. Should be interesting to see what happens today.

I'm getting super annoyed. I get 3-4 calls everyday from random out of state #s I don't recognize. Most of the time I don't answer. I'm on the Do Not Call List, but I doubt that even matters anyway since it is probably not a real business calling anyway, more likely a "scam" so it doesn't apply, because what penalities are they going to be hit with? I block them on my cell phone. I also don't give out my phone # for anything I use my business #.

I get calls from numbers like this all the time and there is a theory that your cell number gets on some spamming list from downloading an app like "words with firends" or so****ing similar... I never got these kind of calls on my cell until I downloaded various free apps. I do not get them on my land line at all...

i just called this number you mentioned is connected with them...401--434-4585. They answer as VLF Alarms. the guy saw my number and said he'd put me on the do not call list. I also "added them" in amy phone address book as a "contact" on my smart phone, and selected, "Send directly to voicemail" so my phone won't even register the call, or ring.

503-457-1274 is shown to be a Nextel phone number based in Oregon. Home Security shows up as the CallerID. They call about 2-3 times a week. It's always a computer named "TOM" that seems to be very adept at responding to what you say as if it were a real person. It's not. I can't believe the FCC or Nextel can't stop this!

I got a call from this number. After several rings, a mechanical voice answers with the standard marketing introduction. I listened long enough to hear the voice say press 1 to no longer receive calls and to allow 24 hours for the no call request to process. No company name mentioned. We'll see. Probably a spammer.

It's a voice recording, that sounds like an actual person. He says he's from Home Protection Services and would like to know if you're interested in a free home security system, under the condition that you place a sign in your yard. If you're interested he will have a specialist call. If you ask his name he says it's Tom. He was answering some of my questions. I did not give him any personal info. The only reason I knew he was a computer and not a real person was because he gave the same answers over and over for various questions and the answers did not always fit what I had asked him.

This is a telemarketing company for security alarms. What I did was give them a phoney name, when they called me back from the alarm company, I knew that they had gotten my cell number from the 503-457-1274 robo call. They use local companies - mine for the Rhode Island and *****chusetts area is VMS alarm company 401-434-4585 please feel free to call them (it's actually is the business - see how they like it!). Annoying, asked how they got my #. He said one of his company's partners, I asked which one, he wouldn't answer me. I asked to speak to his manager, he wouldn't give me to the manager. Instead he kept asking if I owned my home. I kept repeating that I'd like to speak with his manager and he would pretend like I was saying so****ing else until he finally ***g up on me.

I am getting up to 6 calls a day from these people on both my home and cell! My daughter is getting over 15 calls a day on her cell. I think everyone should be calling this company back on every occassion they can to let them know what it is like... I'm putting them on s***d dial...
