Someone is giving out my number, I'm almost sure of it. How else are these people ending up on my phone bill? I don't know anyone out of state or give out my number randomly.

Hey everyone! There's no point in discussing HOW these leeches got your number, or the Do Not Call List, since none of that is enforced. Did u ever post an ad on Craigslist with your phone number, or give it to someone who answered your ad? Never give your number to anyone online that hasn't given their contact info simultaneously. Or give your number to anyone you met on a dating site online? or through email? How about a receptionist at a medical office? or minimum wage sales people at a store? Well, there are many people out there who's sole purpose in life is to collect / harvest phone numbers and email addresses, with the intent of selling them to telemarketers for a profit. You will get harassing phone calls, and spam texts/emails 24x7 if you are careless with your contact info. Telemarketers c****e their Business name/address/owner name so often, it's impossible to catch them. Do not pick up the phone when they call, since this just confirms your number, and tells their auto-dialing computer they have a live body to harass. Do not try to reason with them, since they have no other source of income, job s****s, education, or real friends, so they don't care. They are desperate, and this is the way they survive. There is only one way to put these creeps out of business up to now. Get rid of your landline, or use it for outgoing calls only. Forward all incoming calls from your landline to your cell phone. Download a sophisticated voicemail program to your smart cell phone such as 'YouMail', in combination with the 'W****eYou' app, and learn how to use them. Then, one by one, use the Ditch feature to permanently tag all the numbers who call you repeatedly, and send them down the sewer drain. You won't hear from them a***n, since this all happens in the background. There are also devices you can hook to your landline / home phone which do a similar selective flushing of unwanted calls. Some telemarketers will sense you are doing this, and hit you from another phone, but you simply add that phone to the list, and eventually they are dead in the water. They only have a certain amount of 800 type numbers, and they have to pay for each of them. If enough people do this, these sharks will not be able to stay in business much longer, since everything is swit****g away from landlines to smart cell phones now anyway. Their days are numbered as technology improves.

Hi Everyone, I FOUND OUT WHAT TO DO !! I'm up to here with getting these calls and looked into it. You don't complain to the company calling you. You take it to their phone company. Phone companies are VERY sensitive about complaints to the FCC and state public utility commissions (PUC.) I am receiving taped messages that create commercial telephone calling lists that are sold to other companies. Ignore that they say it's a survey of any kind. The FCC says you can file an easy on-line complain if ..... "You receive a pre-recorded commercial message from someone with whom you do not have an established business relationship and to whom you have not given permission to call you." File a complaint NOW at: http://www.fcc.gov/complains They ask a few quick questions so they can get your complaint to the correct desk. You just have to answer as close as you can to what you experienced like is your phone home or business, wired or wireless, was the call you received live or taped. Very easy. The FCC seems interested in getting a description of the call, going after offers to "opt-out" of future calls, and if you ever made any prior purchases from the company bothering you. AND... complain to the State that phone company is in. First find out the telemarketer's phone carrier and State by sear****g for their number at a service like "Number Guru." http://www.numberguru.com That will give you the Name and State the carrier is in. Then look up any State's agency in charge of telephone companies at: http://www.naruc.org/Commissions/? They show a map of the United States where you just click on the State the carrier is in. You'll get a page with information about the PUC in that State and a link to their website. Once you click over to their website there will be a way to complain on line just like you did at the FCC. HIT THEM WHERE IT HURTS.... .....IN THEIR PHONE COMPANY. TAKE AWAY THEIR TELEPHONE LINE YOU CAN DO IT COMPLAIN NOW

MAKE YORSELF A FORTUNE. S**** A WEB SITE THAT PEOPLE CAN COME TO AND BLOG ABOUT PHONE CALLS THAT ARE ANNYOING, THEN SIT BACK AND WATCH THE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HEADED TO YOUR SITE DRIVEN BY THE ROBOT CALLER MA****ES THAT CAN'T BE TRACED AND HAVE ENOUGH ADVERTISING LINKS TO SITES TO MAKE MONIES OFF CLICKS AS WELL AS MONIES FROM LAWYERS CHASING THE HARRASSMENT CALLERS. NEVER THE LESS THE PHONE CALL LOOK UP WEB SITES HAVE DOUBLED IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS DUE TO ALL THE DIFFERENT PHONE EQUIPMENT ATTACHED TO THE INTERNET THAT CAN'T BE TRACED . ALL I AM SAYING ACT NOW TO MAKE MONIES OFF A WEB SITE FEATURING PHONE NUMBER LOOK-UPS Take a look at all the Number Look Up Companies. Watch this list grow as this is only a small amount of the web sites that say you may find out who called you though most will end up costing you and in the end it doesn’t matter cause most the numbers are fake. www.numberguru.com www.800notes.com www.callercenter.com www.whocallsme.com www.mrnumber.com www.m.mrnumber.com www.callercomplaints.com www.whocalledus.com www.everycallus.com www.reversecellphonenumberdirectory.com www.mycallbot.com www.verifyphonelookup.com www.freephonetracer.com www.phonenumberlookup.com www.number-lookup.com www.reversenumberlookup.com www.freenumberlookup.com www.reversenumberlookup.com Besides as the world turns the phone calls could be part of the new software being developed to trace or track the m***** or even more say your voice and so on. I would just suggest to hit ignore and put the number in block and ignore looking it up because over 5 years it hasn’t really helped me or anyone I KNOW STOP THIS OR EVEN TOLD ME WHO IT REALLY IS AS FOR THE SAME NUMBER ONE GETS A ***DRED DIFFERENT COMPANIES .

I have been receiving calls from this number for over a month. I honestly do not know how they came upon my number. I mention that I have been receiving these calls for more than one month because as a caveat of the do not call list, when one allows a vendor to solicit business by cold calling, any allowance made to the DNC only lasts 30 days. Because today is Friday, and I am feeling especially patient I sat through the entire spiel. I have the name of both the marketing firm as well as the security firm with which they paired me. They are as follows: Marketing firm: Direct Marketing Pros Las Vegas NV. 3053 West Craig Road Ste E #101 North Las Vegas, NV 89032 Toll Free: 1-800-947-1142 Fax: 1-702-947-6597 http://www.directresponsepros.com Accounting: [email protected] Sales: [email protected] Security Firm: SpectraCom Technologies SpectraCom 5090 Central Hwy., Suite 6 Pennsauken, NJ 08109-4637 Toll Free: (866) 270-8700 Local: (856) 910-9880 [email protected] http://www.protect99.com/ I hope this helps some folks out! jack

First off, being on the DNC list won't help. It's use is voluntary and there is no enforcement behind it. Do this instead of freaking out. First, report the spammer to the FCC: http://www.fcc.gov/complaints Next, create a form letter addressed to your senators - both of them - and your representative complaining about the spammer and the lack of enforcement. Sent them off every time you get a spam call. Then create a form email addressed to both senators and your representative. Fire one off every time you get a spam call. Be sure to include any Caller ID info you get. In both cases, use your real name and address. The legislators need to know that you are a voter and registered in their state and district. Otherwise, their mail-chimps just toss the letters. One voter letter = over 100 anonymous complaints.

Just dont answer. I never answer unidentified calls or calls that come thru that are not in my list of contacts. That is one of the nice things about voicemail, people. Take control. If they must talk to you they will leave a message. But most of these numbers, if they do not get hold of you they will remove you from the list so as to get hold of a "live" one. For those of you who just HAVE to answer a ringing phone for some reason, just dont say anything until they do. Most of the spammers wont speak first, they wait for you to say*****o. Ive never gotten a call back from any of these numbers if it goes to voicemail or you just dont speak.

Has called 5 times in the past week. Have tried calling the number back and pressing 1 to be taken off the list. That does not work. Finally gave "Tom" (who is automated) the right answers in order connect me to a person. Once the fella picked up he told me I may be put on hold due to a high call volume but that he was the "***nch Manager". He said that obviously since he was the ***nch Manager I would be given a great deal. The he said he needed some information from me. I said, "Sure no problem, but first would just like to confirm the name of your company." He ***g up. I believe 100% this is a scam.
