Caller ID showed Convergys Corp on the screen with the listed phone number. I was at work, so I wasn't home to answer. General rule I have is that I never answer unknown calls as well as strange company. I wouldn't be surprised if I get more calls from this company later on. Keep track of how many times this company calls you - date, time, name and phone number. Then make a list of all that info and mail it to your state attorney - it has a bureau that deals with telemarketing calls, etc. New York has the best bureau - Charities' Bureau that deals with harrassing unsolicited calls and junk mails that never stop coming. I finally solved that problem with junk mail by mailing a sample letter with explanation to the attorny after years of harrassment. The charity organization stopped immediately after this complaint.

Called my cell and I answered they stated they were my auto lease company and asked if my husband called within the last week and was he available. I stated he wasn't and they said they would call back. In the meantime received a message from another company which in the past somehow put a monthly charge on phone for $14.99. I never even talked to these people. Contacted phone provider and they removed charges however, somehow these people know who you have talked to and know your name. This is a big scam. We are also on the NO CALL list. So****ing needs to be done about these scammers. In this day and age who can afford higher phone bills and right now I feel violated. Husband is on the phone right now with phone provider. I guess I learned a good lesson here if you don't know the number don't answer your phone. Please someone do so****ing about these people.

This is a tactic used by a debt collector to ***n or verify who they are looking for. They use the guise that they are a telemarketer to get around illegal debt collection practices,even though what they are doing is illegal. It is what is known as a "Back door" way of obtaining or verifying who they are looking for. Notify your Attorney General`s consumer protection burea, and file a complaint, along with the Federal Trade Commission about these people and their illegal tactics!

young man asked for me by name and said he was calling on behalf of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Then asked if he had called me cell phone. Apologized and said they weren't allowed to call cell phones and he ***g up. I tried calling back from caller ID but call wouldn't go through.
