@ Josh: What you have listed is VERY good advice. Thank you so much for posting. I have been getting phone calls from these ****s off and on for months now about credit card interest rates. It's a SCAM. They call from a different number each time. This morning I received a call from the 347-213-1780 phone no. I didn't answer the call when I saw it was an unfamiliar no. My phone lists this as being a cell phone number; but after typing it in here it comes up listed as a land line phone. After further investigation the number is located somewhere in the New York City area. From other posters here I see that it is a Telemarketing operation. Being on the Do Not Call List does no good at all. It's worthless. And these creeps WILL NOT take you off their list. In fact; once they know they have a real number they will s**** calling you even more frequently. The best solution is to call your phone company's customer service and ask them about blocking unidentified phone numbers. Some companies have a code you can punch in which no longer allows unidentified numbers to ring through on your line. They can also block a certain number; but in this case they use a lot of different numbers; so that ****od won't work for these jack****es!!Below in the info found on this phone no.Carrier: CELLCO PARTNERSHIP DBA VERIZONCity/State: ROC****D, NYPhone Type: LANDLINE

Got a call from this number today, and thank God for caller ID. I hardly ever answer the phone anymore, seems like phone-scams are on the rise, and interestingly this is the second one in weeks I've heard about coming from New York (the other being from Buffalo, where phone-scammers are threatening people over the phone with imprisonment if they don't divulge their bank account information). The state attorney general offices SAY they can help prosecute fake scammers like this, but they can't do anything without a business' address. A surefire way of telling whether so****ing is a scam? Ask the ****s for their physical mailing address, they will NEVER give it to you. (in other words: if they demand money from you through an account number over the phone, and you turn it around on them by asking them to give you a mailing address so you can mail them a money order, and suddenly they refuse to give any such information... bingo, it's a scam)If you ARE lucky enough to get an address, report it to the BBB and FTC first. But NEVER give away your money unless you are 100% sure where it's going!

Received a call today at 2:37 pm for the first time. I looked up the number on Google and found this web site!Just FYI! I think NWYRCYZN03 is a telecom equipment designation located in the Bronx, New York. It is NOT an appropriate response when you ask who the company or who the caller is! The 347-213-**** prefix is found in Nwyrcyzn03, NY. This exc****e is owned by the carrier Cellco Partnership Dba Verizon Wire and all the numbers are landlines. They are located in the BRONX, MORRISANIA, NY 10456. This is the information I found for Cellco below:1 Verizon WayBasking Ridge, New Jersey 07920-1025United States Tel: 1/908 306-7000 URL: http://www.verizonwireless.com Also I found a listing of business contacts for the Cellco Partnership, names but no numbers. This might be a place to s****. There is a number for their company based in Basking Ridge and the names at the web sight below. You may not have the company that called, but you have the people who sold them the access.Cellco Partnership, Inc. d.b.a. I also found info online that seems to show this number being a Verizon cell phone in New York. I called Verizon, just to tell them that w***ver has this number , is using it for this fake "card services" calling. I told them that this number is possibly being used to get personal account info from people, and/or for illegal activity. The Verizon rep told me to get my # on the do not call list, and there is nothing more they can do. I told her that my number is already on the do not call list, and repeated my concern about this number calling me and many other people. I told her that I found this whocallsme.com website, and 2 others, that have several reports of this "card services" scam from 347-213-1780. She said they would "make a note" on this account. Try calling verizon wireless-maybe if they get many complaints about w***ver has this number, they will take notice.

I am a Verizon customer, how many of the rest of you are too? Is Verizon giving personal information from it's customer database?Cellco Partnership is the #1 US wireless phone operator in terms of sales and subscribers (ahead of top rival AT&T Mobility). Serving about 90 million consumer, business, and government customers nationwide under the Verizon Wireless ***nd, the joint venture is controlled by Verizon Communications (which owns 55% of the company); UK-based global communications giant Vodafone Group owns the remaining share. Offering both standard post-paid and prepaid subscriptions, it distributes phones from manufacturers including Research in Motion, LG, and Palm. The company also offers mobile data services, including text messaging, multimedia content (V CAST), and Web access. 1 Verizon WayBasking Ridge, NJ 07920 Phone: 908-559-2000 President and CEO: Daniel S. I received a call--in the midst of the Midwest mega-blizzard we're enduring here in central Illinois. I don't have a credit card, but I pushed 9 to speak to an operator. Edward (the last name escapes me) answered, and out of frustration I chewed him out and told him that I don't have any credit cards and we're in the midst of a blizzard--and NOT TO CALL ME! He got belligerent and threatened me, and also talked about ***ual stuff. Another man also got on the line, apologizing for Edward, but then also got into the act. I ***g up and plan to report this to the non-emergency line of the local police.

Message was the same thing about a credit card--nothing wrong but an offer was about to run out. I've had this happen before so I pressed "9" for a "representative. Someone calling himself Gary after the usual from me about how he was probably a criminal said he he'd remove my phone # from the list if I'd give it to him and that he had no idea what my number was--that he's at an outgoing call center. (No way would I give my phone #.) He said that the company he was working for was "Account Services, Inc."The call came through without a name attached, merely "New York" plus the phone number on my caller ID.

ONE TIME I HAD TALKED WITH A MALE AND HE ASKED IF I HAVE 4,000.00 CHARGED ON MY CREDIT CARD AT ALL TIMES AND I SAID NO AND HE ***G UP. THE NEXT TIME I HIT 9 A***N TO TELL TEHM TO TAKE ME OFF THE LIST TO CALL AND SHE ***G UP ON ME RIGHT AWAY. THEY DON'T TELL YOU WHAT CREDIT CARD COMPANY THEY ARE CALLIKNG FOR.

Recorded message said this was an important call about my credit card and instructed me to press "9" to talk to a representative. When a "live" person came on the line, she indicated that they could lower my credit card interest. I asked her which credit card of mine she was calling about. She couldn't answer my question (satisfactorily). I then asked where her company was headquartered. She ***g up.

Verizon knows, they will surely understand my rudeness when a legitimate Verizon rep talks to me about their service. As in Eygpt eventually the people's anger will rise to the occasion and smite the ones that harbor the injustices. ***** to the scammers. Shame on verizon for allowing this number to continue service after all the complaints I have read. One day we will learn how to strike back.

This number called 1/18/2011 at 4pm, a female recorded message claiming to be from our credit card company, did not say the credit card name, saying they could reduce the interest rate. I hit the 0 three times and a male voice came on at which point I told them to remove my phone number and put it on the do not call, the caller simply ***g up.
(347) 213-1780 - January 21st, 2011 5:00am
I filed a complaint with the do not call site and it could not be registered. According to the site at .gov the caller was not a number registered within the last 31 days. Obviously this scam operation is using phone numbers and then discontinuing them so they never fall into the do not call guidelines.

These c****s call me daily, for over a year now. Today I pressed 9 and it rang through to a human who asked if I wanted to lower my interest rate today. I replied "no, I'd like my phone number to be removed from this list". She ***g up in my ear.
