i got this call too, telling me i would get a free watch and some magazines if i parti****ted in a survey. she (clarissa) asked me where i work and my age (they can't do anything with that info so i told them). then she surprised me by stating my address, and i confirmed it. she didn't give me a chance to talk and said i would be mailed a diamond watch and a bunch of magazines. then she thanked me and said goodbye. then a minute later, i got another call from a guy asking me how the girl did when she called me and i said she was polite, and he said she's new so she might have been a little nervous. and then i asked to make sure that i'm not being charged anything yet, because i can't afford anything. then he said rudely "you can't afford $3? ****n" and i said "well i just don't know who you are and don't want to give you my card number" and then he ***g up and never heard back.DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR CARD NUMBER IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR MONEY

I just got a call from this number which stated she was the supervisor of the last number that called. the information that they have got on you were from a major credit card company that would haven entered you into a the sweepstakes that they put everyone. supposely and that they are calling cause you had become some finalist. not sure, its a marketing firm that called which do make cold calling out to supposed winners. i think the winning part or the finalist part is to get you all exited and what not and make your mind to not be wary that you will be buying a subscription to a magazine that would pay for the other 6 magazines. Its just a big tree ****er scam i think. But the caller ID for this number and the number related are:+1-310-539-7189 ( ELLIS ISL FUNDI )+1-310-539-3099 ( CA READER SERVICES )But i****ume that everyone who got called recived the calls on their cell. And knowing how caller ID works on a cell (doesn't show name like land line). But i got that info because i had forwarded my cell to my home, due to att's failing all over network. (and i think thats a big scam too from our mobile carriers, with all thier adverts about being the best ****py service company ) but if you get the call on your cell its a marketing tactic to hide who they really are.

Scam; fishing for your credit card information and personal info. Got a call from them today. they said they got my info from my credit card/bank. the lady, Dawn, seemed abnormally ditsy and unintelligent. She was supposedly calling from Publisher's Headquarters. Did not have any sort of ID#, nor could she tell me her direct number or company's ph number. she said i had the chance to win $25,000.00, a truck, trip to hawaii, and so****ing else. On top of that I get a free diamond watch, and 6 magazines. She said her manager would call me back right after. I asked her if this info was gonna be emailed to me and she said she had no idea about e-mailing. lol. They have called me 4 times in the past half hour...twice blocking their phone number to get me to answer. Pretty persistent for a company willing to give me $25,000.00 and a bunch of free stuff.anywhos...knew it was a scam so i called all my credit card companies and banks to report this...of course my credit card/banks said they don't give out my information. So don't answer this call...and definitely don't give any personal information.

(Feb. 25, 2009) I think this might be related to the same scam info reported on phone 310-241-0523 because I received a call on my cell from Elina (she had my private cell phone number and home address) at Publishers Headquarters in California who said I have been selected for the final drawing on May 31st for the "Dreams Come True sweepstakes" for (1) $25,000 cash, (2) Hybrid car (black or silver), or (3) kitchen makeover. She said I definitely would be receiving 6 magazines of my choice for the next 48 months AND a free diamond watch -- totally free. However, in exc****e for this, they did require me to subscribe to one magazine of my choice for 48 months at a cost of $3.95 per week. She did not ask for any credit card or other payment info at the time of the call, but was very pleasant and friendly. After we talked, I received MANY different phone calls the rest of today from "Unknown,"310-539-3099" and "310-539-7189," which I did not answer. When I checked WhoCallsMe.com to see what's the scoop and I found out it is a scam. I will not answer from area code 310 anymore. I think (from reading the other posts) they were calling me back for my payment info to complete the scam-transaction!

They called did a survey knew my address and said I was in some sweepstakes and I get free magizines but had to pay for one, well they didn't ask for my credit in fo so I wasn't going to willing offer it. So they ***g up, I get a call back like a min later from what sounded like the same girl asking for my credit info, I said I didn't want to pay for it and she was ****ed saying I wasted her time. I had no idea where they got my info from...she said I was a preferred customer from my bank? She said she was from Publishing Company

I just received a call from this number. The girl was very nice and friendly... and I was too. However, as soon as the intro spiel was done... having confirmed my address (no problem; I gave no information)... she said "We'd like to know a little more about our contest winners." RED FLAG!!! She then asked "Do you mind telling me your age?" My response was to pleasantly let her know that any further personal details would have to be shared by me in response to a written request. She then said a quick OK and goodbye. Goodbye indeed. QUACK! This gets 3/5 Red Flags.
