Caller attempted to confirm my phone was purchased through Verizon (it wasn't) and then tried to sell me on trading in my existing phone for $1,000. Caller didn't know my name and was clearly acting shifty.

This number called asking if i had recieved my 2024 Medicare card yet. First off she had what sounded like a indian (country) accent which is usually a red flag to me as a scam, but when I them to recite my name, address, she was able to do that. i have been dealing with SSD part B for some time and had just recieved a letter on Thursday and spoke to the local SS office on Friday and was told that i would be recieving a new card within a month. when she said she didnt see any correspondence, and no dates have been c****ed i knew she was a SCAMMER. BEWARE. I Looked on Been Verified and called the number only to have it say the number has been closed and unable to speak to anyone. Another Red Flag. Always beware, Always be Diligent and cover yourself.
This person named "Liz" called me from 281 357 9332 and said that I requested info about back taxes, which I never have. I asked her how she got my number and why she was calling. She was extremely rude and said, " I already told you." She ***g up on me. I called the number right back and a guy answered and he said, "Susan". My freak is NOT "Susan". I proceeded to tell him that someone named "Liz" called me from that number and was extremely rude. He ***g up on me as well.
Man said he was from the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Department and needed to verify my iden***y before discussing the matter about which he was calling. When I said “what’s up, what’s going on? I’m in a hurry” caller ***g up the phone. I called the number back and it went to a voicemail claiming to be an officer from a different Sheriff’s department.
