This is what you call a spam phone call. This one I got today. So Here is basically how it works. Scammers get your credit report and call your number. They know your basic credit information, most credit reports are able to provide most (but not the entire) account numbers of everything you have your credit attached to. Then, they call you. An automated dialer is placing outbound calls to seek active numbers. Once you pick up the call, they do not identify themselves as one specific company (because theyte going off your credit report and want account-specific info) and once you click a number the automated system recognizes you're a live number. It counts as contact. Then, you continue to get calls and are forced to pick up. At which point, you're pitched either an account specific item, or a general sales pitch depending on your credit score and how high of credit lines you have with available credit. "what do they want when they call?" Usually your account numbers that are missing. Experian provides almost the entire account number next to every trade line. Have you checked out how to check your credit score online? its actually not too hard for a good enough hacker to get onto creditkarma. Nonetheless, do not trust this #. Keep in mind, legitimate businesses still call you to make money so be mindful, do your research, and know that with legitimate companies it is much safer than mailing a check (that holds your account # and routing # and your name and address and phone number and sometimes profession and how much money you DEFINIYELU have in your account since you're writing a check... Yeah)
I work in the collections department at a bank. I have access to everyone's credit reports. I do not abuse this power but between us and the fraud department you learn some interesting things.
Ahmed or Habib called asking about my alarm system, telling me I could get 20% off my home owner's insurance. He handed me off someone else who was a "specialist" and confirmed that I had ADT but it was not active. After his sales pitch I asked the cost to which he replied that it was much cheaper than ADT. I told him Habib said I could get 20% off my home owner's insurance to which he replied "EXCUSE ME". I repeated and he said the other guy doesn't know what he was talking about, it was 'up to' 20% off. He quoted me $55/month for the service to which I replied that is $660/year. I told him I was going to check with my insurance company, and asked him to provide me with his phone number. He ***g up.
Call is a pre-recorded message stating that is it NOT an advetrti*****t when in fact it is an adverti*****t for a so-called FREE security system. The call also states that they were referred to your nuimber 'by a friend'. Both are FALSE STEMENTS.
Wwhen you press 1 to speak to them and they answer, they **** up without speaking further
when you enquire which friend has referred a work number to them.
They've done the same thing with my cell number..
Spammer: "Home Security System. There is no cost for equipment or installation and the system is monitored 24 hours a day by your local police fire and medical. You must be a homeowner to take advantage in this special offer. If you are interested in having this system installed at no cost to you then please press one now. Once a***n press one now otherwise please press two to be removed from our calling."
Received phone call earlier this evening, did not answer because I did not recognize the number and as a good measure I do not answer phone calls from people that I do not know, and if it is important enough then they should leave a message. This caller did not and through the comments and looking this number up I now know that this is 100% a scam. Thank you for all of the comments
Number showed up on my caller ID that I didn't recognize so didn't answer. Decided to run a search on duckduck go and came up with this site. Thank goodness I never answered or pressed any of their so-called menu options. People BEWARE once you press #2 they know that they are calling a good phone number and will simply call you back on another line. Just simply **** up without pressing anything!
Telemarketer. I pressed the ****on to speak to an operator & asked them to remove my number from their calling list. She politely acknowledged & basically ***g up on me. I called back & the recording has an option to remove your number from the calling list. That was also 9/9/14. We will see if the number was removed.
Its GBMarketing Company, a telemarketer that is violating state and federal Do Not Call lists. Located somewhere near Kalamazoo, MI but could be in surrounding area as well or bought the number and is located in NYC hard to say. It is a sales call/robocall system calling. Complaints have been filed. Should not be spam calling cell #s either.
I had been ignoring the calls. My husband made mistake of answering. Lady with heavy accent said she was recording call. Said they were filing papers by end of day to garnish our wages. He flipped out on her and we then blocked the number
They called my cell phone which is a no no when they are telemarketer. Telemarketers are not supposed to call your cell phone .The actually can be fined for doing this. Per Government regulations they can be fined $500 for every call to cell phone
This number has called at least 50 times back to back. It is a recording, but I do not know what they are selling or advertising. I just **** up. But it must be automatically directed to keep calling this business phone.
Computer call - tried to sell me some security system - they try to get you to press 1 for more info or 2 to be removed from the call list. I pressed neither and the call just ended.
Unknown caller, no caller ID displayed, I did not answer and I am glad It did not answer. Thank you to all the people who took the time to post their experience with calls from this number.
They are telemarketing s***. People BEWARE once you press menu option 2 to opt out, THEY KNOW THEY ARE CALLING A GOOD NUMBER and will call you back on another line. Just **** up without pressing anything!
I'm being harassed by this number...my home and cell phone..they call all the time. I put myself on their so called do not call list and it did not help. I'm beyond frustrated.
