At about 8:30 P.M., today January 29th, I received a computerized call from someone who identifies herself as Rachel. Now I know what company I am dealing with - Mutual Consolidating Savings, as they had called me before in July 2008. Not only I cancelled and had all my credit cards replaced but also called back at their 800 number to cancel and remove my name from their list since I was careless and fell victim to their scam when they mentioned lower interest rates. Nevertheless, I acted immediately by notifying the credit companies in question the very next morning, before they could go through and charge my credit card. When I called to cancel my membership with them, the "supervisor" tried to get information from me but I didn't give in and just **** up when she got rude. I managed to block most of the caller numbers but 234-567-8900 does not work and is not valid. I have already tried making a police report here in Montreal, Ca***a but was told to call the sheriff in the area where this company supposedly operates but they, too, have thrown me a curve and told me to report to the local police. No wonder this company continues to scam ppl.

I am in Manitoba, Ca***a and have been receiving almost daily, pre-recorded calls, regarding lowering the interest rate for my credit card. It is NOT from my credit card company and is obviously a scam. These calls have been going on for several weeks. This becomes VERY annoying - irritating - aggravating and frustrating after days/weeks of this!!! It would be nice if some kind of regulations could put an end to these calls!! I have recently registered with the national "No Call Registry" but they say it can take up to a month for calls to stop (it has not yet been that long). It remains to be seen whether this national registry will help stop these and other similar calls. After the specified period of time has elapsed, if these calls continue to come, I will be reporting this number to the registry. It's time for a loud, public outcry a***nst these telemarketers and scammers! I want these calls to STOP!

So, you got a call from the # 1-235-567-8900. Well these people claim they can help you reduce your credit card rate. The problem I had with this is I've never had a credit card in my life. I learnt there are a number of other toll free numbers you can call to have this stoped. Mutual Consolidated Services is a scam probably working for Collection Agencies and Telemarketers. The numbers to have them stop calling you are as follows: 1-877-891-1348, 1-800-***-3250, 1-888-878-1014.But be very careful if you call one of these numbers. I DIALED *67 (TO HIDE MY #) BUT THAT DID NOT WORK. I FOUND OUT THEY HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO "OVERRIDE" THIS. AFTER I USED *67 THEN DIALED THERE #, THE WOMAN (IN A RUDE MANNER) TOLD ME THE NUMBER I WAS CALLING FROM (MY #). THEY AND MANY OTHER CO's CAN OVERRIDE *67, SO BE CAREFUL NOW!!! JUST USE A PAYPHONE WHICH COSTS NOTHING FOR TOLLFREE NUMBERS!Drive them crazy, just like what they do to us.......

I called back and told the person I was talking to that I wanted to speak to the compliance officer (Chris) and that I did not want to stay on hold for 5 minutes. Surprise, surprise, Chris answered the phone. I told him I wanted my number removed from his list and he supposedly did so. I asked when this would be in effect and he said up to 30 days. I told him if I get any calls after this time I would email everyone I know to flood their 1-800 lines and he said go right ahead - they can take up to 20,000 calls per hour. Nice customer service!

I'm in Ca***a and keep getting these calls. I don't pick up the phone anymore and they still call. I took Chrysta's advice (below Jan. 16, 2009) and tried to speak to their compliance officer. I was on hold over 5 minutes and was getting the feeling that they had just left me ****ing. I'll try a***n when I have time and if I really do speak to a compliance officer I fully plan to tell him I am going to email their customer service numbers to absolutely everyone I know to call and **** up as many times as possible. Maybe if we flood their lines, some action will take place.

Many report that they are ineffective. Ca***ian DNC list info has been reported in the paper recently as legally being offered for sale in Ca***a.
