The individual called and negotiated a price for a lawnmower listed on Facebook. They asked for a Zelly account but when we did not have that we had a Venmo account. When they sent them $1500 for the lawnmower, they immediately sent a picture of a denied post and said this happens all the time and they would send 500 to turn us into a business account. We were asked to promise to return the $500 when the next email came the system said that we had to take out of pocket $2000 and pay the Venmo agent to release the $2000 which if my math is correct makes us earn zero. When trying to contact the buyer and letting them know that I contacted Venmo not using the number listed on the bottom of the email. They immediately got agitated and stopped talking to me. It helps when you actually work for the FBI as a consultant.
